Wooden Camera 218700 Overview

This 4 to 5" LCD Sun Shade from Wooden Camera quickly attaches with elastic straps to monitor screens measuring 4 to 5" diagonally. It is a perfect fit for RED 4.7" and 5" touchscreen monitors. Four-sided coverage will provide for optimal protection in extreme conditions, and a flexible bottom area will allow you to comfortably access front panel controls.

An adhesive-backed touch-fastener strip is also included for attaching direct to the LCD frame rather than using elastic straps.

Works great for Canon c300mkiii

This slides on and off the c300mkiii easily as you go in and out of bright sunny situations.

Fits the SmallHD Focus 5 inch monitor, however the straps look very thin (can see through them even when the 'elastic' is not in tension). If I have time I'll unsew them and sew a film set ready heavy duty one. I wish it were just a feeling, however other reviews seem to confirm that. Build quality of the shade itself is very good, bottom part is soft, so your hand can reach the touchscreen without popping the thing off. The fact it folds is a plus. I suppose less precious people can use the provided sticky Velcro as another way of attaching the shade on the monitor. I'm not a big fan of sticking stuff on my gear though. To sum up: it's an essential accessory, that does fit and in my opinion better protects the SmallHD Focus 5 (beats the weird clip on shade which I also acquired), but those elastic bands at the back: no good. Not for that price point at least.

Will this fit the Portkeys BM5 II (which measures 5.2" in the diagonal)? If not, suggestions are very welcome. Been looking for ages for a simple sunhood. Don't want to add weight with a cage.

Will this fit the Marshall Electronics 5 On-Camera Monitor?

This LCD Sun Shade is designed specifically for the monitors that sit on a RED Camera. It may work with other 5 monitors, however it is a better idea to stick with hoods designed specific to a monitor. We have 2 options for hoods that fit 5 Marshall Monitors. They may be a better fit for your needs.

The Wooden Camera LCD Sun Shade (4 to 5") is designed specifically for RED 4.7" and 5" monitors, though it may work with other 5" monitors. However, the Shinobi II uses a larger 5.2" screen, so the sun shade may not fit the screen properly.

Can anyone verify if this works on the C300 Mark III's 4.3" LCD? I know it's been asked before, but the answer here points to the Hoodman version and an answer on the Hoodman page says to use this one because the other is too small.

Yes this would be a better choice that would fit the C300 mk III's slightly larger screen. The C300 the Hoodman model is made for fits only 4" screens. Not 4.3" of the C300 Mk III.

I'm not familiar with that monitor. But the walls of this shade are easy to cut with scissors if you need to create a slot or gap in it. I finished off the rough edges with electrical tape.

The Wooden Camera LCD Sun Shade (4 to 5") will not fit the SmallHD Ultra 5 because the physical dimensions are larger than 5" (5.9 x 3.4 x 1.3").
