Compatible with both Dell and non-Dell systems, the Thunderbolt 3 Dock from Dell links past, present, and future technologies to your computer with just one Thunderbolt 3 cable. While this dock connects to your system using a Thunderbolt 3 cable, it is also equipped with one Thunderbolt 3 port. Thunderbolt 3 is a hardware interface that utilizes the reversible USB Type-C connector and doubles the speed of its predecessor with a maximum throughput of 40 Gb/s when used with compatible devices. The connector also transmits data via USB 3.1 at up to 10 Gb/s, and dual-bandwidth DisplayPort 1.2 allows you to connect up to two 4K displays simultaneously. Additionally, you can daisy chain up to six devices from a single Thunderbolt 3 port.
Aside from its Thunderbolt 3 port, this dock is also equipped with three USB 3.0 Type-A ports, two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, one DisplayPort, one mini DisplayPort, one HDMI port, one VGA port, one Gigabit Ethernet port, one 3.5mm speaker-out jack, and one 3.5mm audio combo jack. Use the USB ports to connect peripherals such as external storage, optical drives, printers, memory card readers, and more, while one of the USB ports also doubles as a charging port. The DisplayPort, mini DisplayPort, and HDMI port can support up to five displays, including three Full HD 1920 x 1080 displays and two 4K displays @ 60 Hz. The Gigabit Ethernet port will enable wired network connectivity and to help deter item theft, a Kensington lock slot is also built into this dock and may be used with compatible cables. The Thunderbolt 3 Dock includes an AC adapter.
