question

Can this be used to screw in 58mm accessories to a series & lens like Leica R 90/2.8?
Asked by: Amit
The Leica Telephoto 90mm f/2.8 Elmarit R 3-Cam Manual Focus Lens has a 55mm filter thread. Use this adapter to mount Series 7 filters to it. General Brand 55mm-Series 7 Step-Up Adapter Ring (Lens to Filter) B&H # GBAR55S7. Use this retaining ring to hold the Series 7 filter in the adapter. General Brand Series 7 Retaining Ring B&H # GBRRS7.

question

I have a 58mm polarizer filter and now am purchasing a 62mm lens. Can I us a step-up adapter ring to make this work? If so which one do I want?Thank you.
Asked by: Anonymous
As the 58mm filter you own is smaller than the 62mm filter threads on the lens you wish to purchase, you would need to purchase a 62-58mm step-down ring, such as the Sensei 62-58mm Step-Down Ring, B&H # SESDR6258. Do note that when using a filter with a smaller filter thread on a lens that has a larger filter thread, you may encounter some vignetting due to the smaller filter thread size. (not guaranteed, but it is a possibility of which you should be made aware).

Is the photo for this item wrong? It should look like the photo for the General Brand 62mm-Series 7 Step-Up Adapter Ring: female 36 tpi threads for the smaller diameter Series 7 retaining ring and male 0.75mm pitch threads to fit larger diameter lens with its 0.75mm pitch female threads.
Asked by: James M
Unfortunately, I am not certain. The above is a general brand item, and the image used may be an example of the step-up adapter ring, but not be the actual adapter ring that is received. That being said, if you purchase the above item, the step-up ring you receive would be designed to allow a series 7 accessory to be used on a standard 67mm filter thread.

No, the General Brand Hasselblad Bayonet 60-Bayonet 50 Step-Down Adapter Ring (Lens to Filter) enables a filter with an attachment size of Bayonet 50 to be used with a lens with an attachment size of Bayonet 60. You cannot use it with a 52mm filter.

Will this allow the use of a B60 Pro Shade to the Zeiss Sonnar C 250 lens, which is B50?
Asked by: richard
This General Brand Hasselblad adapter allows a filter or hood that has a Bayonet 50 mount to fit on a lens with a Bayonet 60 mount, therefore it would be the opposite of what you need.
