HuddleCamHD HCM-1 Overview

The white HCM-1 Small Universal Wall Mount Bracket from HuddleCamHD is a universal thin-profile wall mount designed to position a camera above or below a plasma or LCD monitor. The HCM-1 features a 1/4"-20 slot for camera mounting. It is constructed from heavy-gauge steel and covered with a powder-coated finish. This bracket mounts directly to drywall or masonry with supplied anchors.

Perfect for Conference room

We ordered the ceiling mount years ago, then wanted to clean up and center the front facing camera. All in, with the mounts, camera and cables dial HD camera's from a medium sized room for less than 1k. Good deal.

Easy install, but shaky

The design of these makes for an easy and clean looking install, but the thin metal also means that at full zoom, the image is shaky if there are any vibrations in the building. This was a known issue when I bought it, since other reviews highlighted the issue. I'm going to try fixing it by adding some wood blocking below the camera bracket as support. If I'm able to dampen the vibrations, it should be completely steady. The metal bracket by design just bounces (it's a metal plate sticking out perpendicular to the wall), so it's performing as (poorly) designed.

For the price, I expected a rock solid bracket. This one does not prevent vibration. You can flex the camera up and down on this bracket. I had to add support to the bracket to eliminate vibration.

Works great with the PTZOptics 30X-NDI Broadcast and Conference Camera. Screws and anchors included, plus screws if you need to mount to a gang box. During the installation, I realized I may not have a screw to mount the camera, but even that was included!

What else can I say? It's a basic white bracket that perfectly fits the PTZ Optics cameras. The color is right, the mounting holes are thoughtfully designed, and the cutouts for cables are helpful.

I used this mount for a PTZOptics camera. Attached wall mount bracket upside-down, so camera could see all of congregation in the room. No problems so far.

At nearly 2 pounds, it's a fairly heavy-duty piece, but of course, vibrations would also be contingent on the flexibility/texture of the surface it is mounted on.

There is no weight restriction specifically listed for this mount. But it is designed to work with your smaller to average size PTZ Camera. It can safely handle a few pounds.
