This iStarUSA WA-KBR-1U 1 RU Sliding Drawer is already designed to be used for keyboards. The hole punches on the inside are for managing cables, to connect your keyboard, or other equipment that is in the tray. This is designed to be used right-side up, so the keyboard can be stored inside the rack when it is not in use.

No, the iStarUSA WA-KBR-1U 1 RU Sliding Drawer does not lock. For a 1U locking drawer, consider the On-Stage RDL1000 Locking Rack Drawer (B&H # ONRDL1000) or the On-Stage RDLS1000 1 RU Locking Rack Drawer (B&H # ONRDLS1000).
