Fitbit FB502 overview

  • 1Description

Track your activity levels, sleep patterns, heart rate data, and more with the large Fitbit Blaze Fitness Watch in plum. This wrist-worn tracker uses GPS along with a complex array of sensors to record how many steps you take, your distance traveled, calories burned, floors climbed, and how many minutes you stay active. It connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth and syncs its data wirelessly while providing you with notifications, workout assistance, and more.

Thanks to its PurePulse technology, the Blaze also provides continuous and automatic heart rate data. You can use this heart rate data to monitor your intensity, analyze the effectiveness of your activities, maximize your workouts, and more – all without the need of an additional heart rate chest strap or accessory.

PurePulse Heart Rate
Fitbit's PurePulse heart rate monitoring provides continuous automatic heart rate tracking without need for a chest strap. This helps improve the accuracy of the Blaze's calorie monitoring and enables you to keep track of your cardiovascular activity. Three heart rate zones – Fat Burn, Cardio, and Peak – let you hit the targets you need for your workout. Workout and all-day heart rate readings can be analyzed in the Fitbit app.
Workout Summaries
Check your wrist after a workout for an assessment of what you've accomplished that day and over time.
Smart Notifications
View call, text, and calendar alerts from your smartphone on your wrist.
Multi-Sport
The Blaze records data for cycling, running, cross training, weight lifting, and more.
FitStar
On-screen FitStar workouts give you step-by-step exercise instructions on your wrist.
SmartTrack
Fitbit's SmartTrack recognizes select workouts and records them as exercise in the Fitbit smartphone app.
All-Day Activity Tracking
Over the course of your day, your Blaze keeps track of how many steps you take, how far you walk, how many floors you climb, the number of calories you burn, and the time you spend active.
Sleep Tracking with Silent Alarms
The Blaze automatically detects when you're asleep and begins monitoring your sleep cycle, without requiring you to put it into sleep mode. Silent alarms gently wake you with a vibration on your wrist.
Music Control
Adjust your smartphone's volume, play and pause, and skip tracks.
Battery
The internal battery lasts for up to five days on a charge.
Water Resistant
The Blaze is sweatproof, rainproof, and splashproof.
Design
The Blaze itself can be detached from the stainless steel frame to easily swap between bands, which can also be detached from the frame. Additional bands made from elastomer, stainless steel, and leather are available for purchase.

The color touchscreen of the watch can be customized with a variety of faces to suit your style and mood.

    Fitbit FB502 reviews

Blaze Fitness Watch (Large, Plum) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Probably the best excercise tracker on the market The Fitbit Blaze is my first Fitbit device to try so far, but I previously owned the Nike Fuelband, Microsoft Band 2, and Apple Watch Sport 42mm. Of all the devices, I would say the Blaze is the most well-rounded and there are a few things that give it an edge over other devices.Features: For $, you get the basic features of steps (or motion) and tracking of common activities. Then there are more advanced features like sleep monitoring, heart rate monitor, text/call notifications, music control, and an altimeter (measures altitude). This is identical in features to the Fitbit Surge, but you lose the GPS (which you can get when paired with a phone) and you get a nicer colored screen/UI. In terms of features/design, I think the Blaze combines the best of the Apple Watch (larger screen) and the Band (altimeter and activity tracking).Battery Life: All devices mentioned above have a USB charged battery. The Blaze goes 3-4 days before needing a charge, which beats the Apple Watch and MS Band (2 days). Battery life is essential for continuous sleep tracking and it's good to know you don't have to charge it every night. Challenges/Community: Perhaps the coolest feature of a fitbit is the ability to set your own goals and compete against friends. With a wide array of products and price-points, Fitbit has the biggest community of users and you can challenge your friends to a daily, weekly, or weekend step challenge. You can also set step goals for yourself and with the Blaze, you can use the Altimeter to gain achievements based on floors climbed. This works to either encourage you to take stairs more often to taking on a huge hike or stair climb (does not work on stationary climbs).Design: From the on-screen UI to the IOS app, the design is simple and intuitive. You do have to take out the main LCD compartment to charge the device, which is somewhat annoying (I'm hoping this doesn't cause issues with the watch down the line). There are a few quirks/bugs with the trophies that Fitbit developers need to work on (I didn't dock any stars on this because it is a plus rather than an essential feature for me). Conclusion: The Nike Fuelband was a great attempt at activity tracking, but it's measurement of fuel points was somewhat limited. I see the Apple Watch has a very clean construction/feel and is an excellent phone extension, but not a great activity tracker. The Microsoft band 2 had many improvements from the v1 and is fairly close in features to the Fitbit Blaze, but the MSRP was $250 and the screen is nowhere as nice as the Blaze. Also, there is no competition with the Fitbit community base, which makes this a no-brainer for me as the best activity tracker on the market today.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good buy. The watch does everything that advertised. The heart rate monitor works great. Getting four days out of a charge of the battery. Have purchased the charging stand to make it easier to charge. Works great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great fitness watch I've had it for a week and cant take it off. The heart rate monitor is great, Bluetooth notifications come in handy. Wish it had GPS installed and that would make it perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love my FitBit Blaze, but invest in a screen protector! I love my FitBit blaze. It's helpful that it reminds me with a gentle vibration to get up and moving during my otherwise mostly sedentary work day. Controlling my music while exercising and receiving other notifications is also really convenient. The only downside I've really found is that the screen is soft. I got 2 good scratches on it in the first week-- so invest in the screen protectors!
