Plug your stereo high-impedance gear into your low-impedance rig with the dbx DJdi 2-Channel Passive Direct Box. Requiring no power supply, the DJdi can conveniently operate in situations where phantom power is not available without needing battery changes to power active electronics found in some DI boxes. A built-in ground-lift switch can help avoid noise from ground loops. Another feature on the DJdi is the input attenuator, which prevents overloading from high-level signals.

The best live DIs weve used

We are a rock band that plays a lot of large performing arts theaters, and have been using Radial passives. But after three of those burned out (bad transformers) we thought wed buy inexpensive ones and just replace as needed. These things ROCK. Clear, uncolored sound, small footprint, solid metal construction, indistinguishable from the Radials at a fifth of the price. And so far, theyre holding up better than the high priced DI.

Is this used for connecting consumer grade line level signal -10dBV gear to pro grade line level signal +4dBu gear?
Although the dbx DJdi 2-Channel Passive Direct Box's continuously variable
input signal attenuator can accommodate a wide range of signal levels, it is not specifically designed for connecting consumer level products to professional gear. The main function of the DJdi is accepting unbalanced input signals and converting them to balanced output signals, and functions best in standard DI applications such as sending a guitar signal to a mixer.
