  • 1Description

The Smith0-Victor KF2U 2-Light 90W/s Thrifty Location Kit is one of the most economical flash kits available. It includes 2 FlashLite 45i AC Slave/Master Flashes, swivel mounts, umbrellas for softening the light output, and light stands.

The built in optical slave fires the second flash when it "sees" the light from the first unit.
The black backed white umbrellas soften the light.

    Smith-Victor 45i reviews

    KF2U 2-Light 90W/s Thrifty Location Kit is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Satisfied Purchase I was hesitant to purchase the product, because I thought that I would quickly outgrow the capabilities of the Flash Kit. Now that I have had it for a few weeks, I am very satisfied with it and now my only regret is that of not having purchased it earlier. This kit is an invaluable tool for gaining experience with studio lighting because of its portability, reliability and low cost. I do wish however, that it did come with a bag to carry the equipment with, the corrigated carrying case mentioned is just a card board box, though I half expected that. ...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Inexpensive, light, sturdy but not cheap? After 30+years as an amature sometime pro, I thought full time professsional work would entail very expensive equipment, but after several successful sittings and very satisfied clients. I must admit the kit has paid for itself.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Deal for the Price I bought this kit as a last minute addition for a photo shoot. It was very easy to assemble, light-weight and up and running within minutes. However, the actual output is not that great and for beginners it's a little difficult to get the lights set up just right in order to avoid heavy shadows. For the price it definitely did its job and I will be using this kit in the future for product photography and hopefully portraits too!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Let There Be Light! This is a very capable studio flash kit that has surpassed my expectations. I have used this kit in a home studio as well as an improvised studio at an event, and it delivered for me in both situations. The flashes are surprisingly powerful, and dead simple to use. I also love the option of using the umbrellas for bounce or shoot-through. The optical slaves impressed me with how consistant they are, but don't expect rapid-fire operation; they need some time to recharge after each shot. Both flash units are equally powerful and the output cannot be adjusted. This can make it difficult to fine tune the look that you want. They can also be set off by a camera flash from a ridiculous distance away - something to think about if using them for event photography. All things considered, I am very pleased with my purchase, and I feel the value of this kit is tough to beat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Studio Flash Kit This has been a really good kit for me. Have used it a few time and it working well. The slave flash bulbs work well and you can also put continuous lighting bulbs in the kit.
