AKG WMS40 MINI Overview

The WMS40 Mini Wireless Handheld & Bodypack Dual System from AKG features a SR40 mini dual-channel receiver, HT40 handheld transmitter, PT40 bodypack transmitter, and MKG L instrument cable. The system is small, portable, easy to set up, and is suitable for houses of worship, hotels, gyms, or band applications.

The handheld microphone transmitter has a dynamic cardioid capsule that provides maximum gain before feedback for speech applications. It operates on a single AA battery that can run for up to 30 hours. The receiver offers two balanced outputs via 1/4" jack connectors.

The PT40 wireless bodypack transmitter has a mini XLR audio connector that makes it compatible with all kinds of guitars, basses, and instrumental pickups. There is also a gain control for adjustment of the input volume and a noiseless On/Off/Mute switch. Plus, it operates up to 30 hours on a single AA battery. In addition, a lavalier or headset (sold separately) can also be used with the bodypack transmitter.

The WMS40 Mini Wireless Handheld & Bodypack Dual System also has 3 LEDs indicating On/Off and RF status. Operation is fairly straightforward; simply connect the SR40 mini to a PA amplifier input, power the transmitters and receiver and you're ready for wireless performances in presentations, band rehearsals, and more.

AKG WMS40 MINI Reviews

Great mic, great price

We have 6 of these mics at our Church now. These are now the only mics we use. We love the clarity, the range and the single AA battery is awesome. You can spend more but it would be hard to get more. We love our AKGs

Great budget multi mic bundle

I bought this bundle for a small skate jam that needed some wireless mics for the marshals to address the crowd. Range was impressive for what your paying for but is very susceptible to BPE and sibilance. I feel that if your buying for live music or band use it may cause a few problems due to the overall quality of the mics but for general purpose PA applications well worth the price tag

If you have this same exact system and are looking to replace a handheld transmitter, you would have to check with AKG for a replacement.

What can be the cause if this wireless is making unnecessary noise?
Asked by: Olatujoye Gbenga
There could be other radio devices in the general area. Ac line hum could be caused by appliances nearby and plugged into the same electrical service as well. Faulty connecting cables can create noise as well.

question

Can the receiver mount to a camera or a tripod?
Asked by: Steven
This is a table top design and doesn't inherently have any provision for portable applications. You could have a look at the bottom of the module to determine how modifiable it is. Good luck.
