I bought this overpriced piece of metal because I valued solid build quality and the flexibility of a sliding base plate. I like to keep the same system for all my camera mounts, this works in combination with my DS-10. This allows me to use the one camera and change between rigs fast. Only flaw with this product, aside the price, is that the tightening knob is fixed and 2mm too long. When attached to a flat surface it cannot fully rotate and thus cannot release. There are easy solutions to this problem, yet an unnecessary pain.

Is this the same plate that's on the Miller Air head?
The Miller Cat# 1214 QR adaptor plate will work with any of the Air, DS and CX sliding camera plates, (cat#1205, 1207, and 1209)
