Yamaha UDWL01 Overview

The UD-WL01 from Yamaha is a USB wireless LAN adapter that allows you to connect your musical instrument to an iPhone/iPod touch/iPad and enjoy a range of Yamaha iOS applications. In addition, web services are available for the Tyros5 only. The adapter is a WPS (Wi-Fi-Protected Setup) and allows quick and easy system integration. It is compatible with most Yamaha 500 CLP-Series pianos, and with the firmware updated to 1.50 or later, the MOTIF XF6, XF7, and XF8 keyboards.

Despite What Yamaha Says, Not Compatible with AvantGrand N3X

We bought this to establish Wi-Fi connectivity between external devices and the Yamaha AvantGrand N3X piano. Yamaha says that as long as the piano has the latest firmware update (2.0), it will work. This is not the case as it gives a consistent uu2 error (not compatible). You will be better off with the Bluetooth MIDI connector from Yamaha MD-BT01 Bluetooth adaptor, which does work.

So far, I have not been able to get the adapter to work. It seems to be a complicated process that I have not mastered. Perhaps Yamaha could write instructions that more clearly explain the hookup. At the moment I have abandoned the gadget but may try it again in the future.

I have a P515. What does this give me that the Bluetooth adapter MD-BT01 which I also have wont? Im talking about piano features, not the diff between BT and wifi, that I know.

MD-BT01 gives access to access to Yamaha apps such as Smart Pianist, MusicSoft Manager, and Chord Tracker also, so what's different? thanks

Unfortunately we do not carry the Yamaha 685. This USB Wireless LAN Adapter would not work for you anyway as it's made for the Yamaha CLP 500-Series Instruments.

Someone said, back in 2020, that The UD wl01 cannot Works in a CLP 685. Nowadays, in 2022, in the page related Yamaha website tellls that this device Works in CLP 600 sries IF you have the recent firmware of your Keyboard. Does this information proceeds? Thank You

Yes, Yamaha now specifies the Yamaha UD-WL01 USB Wireless LAN Adapter's compatibility with the CLP-600 Series (excluding CLP-625).

Sorry, but you should assume that it isn't. When I went to the Yamaha website to look up compatibility, they did not list any CVP models as compatible. I recommend you check your owner's manual for recommendations or contact Yamaha directly.
