Antelope Zodiac Platinum DSD DAC Upsampling Converter
Key Features
  • DAC & DSD Upsampler with Multiple I/Os
  • 64-Bit Acoustically Focused Clocking
  • Word Clock Input for Atomic Clocks
  • Upsamples DSD64 & DSD128 to DSD256
Designed by Antelope for a variety of pro-audio conversion scenarios, the Zodiac Platinum is a digital-to-analog converter and master clock that features the ability to handle—and even upsample—DSD formats. Indeed, the Zodiac can upsample DSD64 and DSD128 files to DSD256; this process will aid in revealing all the accuracy, transparency, imaging, and dynamic variance nestled within the original file. Its USB controller chip can handle streaming rates of 480 Mbps, facilitating sample rates of up to 384 kHz in conjunction with Antelope's ASIO driver for OS X and Windows operating systems.

Antelope ZODP Overview

On the DAC side of things, the Zodiac provides AES/EBU connections, as well as S/PDIF and TOSLINK PCM support. It also features the same 64-bit, Acoustically Focused Clocking technology offered in many other Antelope products for jitter management of all digital inputs, as well as an oven-controlled wordclock.

On the front on the unit, a stepped volume attenuator allows for precise stereo balance, while source-selection and stereo-to-mono buttons provide additional and useful features whilst monitoring. Two headphone outputs provide dual-stage driver architecture, as well as switchable output impedances. While the dedicated power supply for the unit is available separately, the Zodiac includes a unibody IR remote control and a software control panel compatible with Mac and Windows computers.
