Harmony Elite Universal Remote System is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best Universal Remote Made, So So Documentation The Logitech Harmony remote is the most capable universal remote I've found. It worked with all my audio video equipment and allows me to map useful remote functions of each device. With the hub positioned strategically to send it codes to the a/v equipment, I don't have to worry about precisely pointing the remote. My only complaint is that the setup documentation from Logitech is rather poor and piecemeal. There are 3 ways to edit the remote:. the smartphone app, a desktop computer app, and the remote itself. The setup wizard will take care of 90% of the setup, but most users will need to map a few functions using one of the three listed methods.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big Upgrade from the One I've been wanting to upgrade my Harmony One remote for a few years now. I didn't want to pay hundreds of dollars for a high end remote. This left me again with Harmony but I didn't like the button placement of the new remotes. Harmony finally wised up with the Elite model. The most used buttons are where they should be (within thumbs reach). Set up was a breeze. I ended up using the computer instead of the app since it gives you more customization over the app. Also, you can transfer all your settings from your old Harmony remote. But the app is a big improvement. The best thing is you don't have to point the remote at the tv or anything else when turning on Activities. My wife LOVES this feature. This was her biggest complaint over the old One. It's not cheap but if you have any decent home theater you really need a great remote. The WAF alone is worth it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The best remote! Worth it! Now, don't misunderstand my title and wonder why I gave this remote 4 stars. In terms of the Harmony Elite remote it IS the BEST! Excellent build quality, great ergonomics and easy to operate. It actually does so much more than I expected and I thought it would take me weeks to set it up to my liking. It took literally 20 minutes to do everything. I have a full A/V system with PS4 and it operated everything without any tweaks or programming special buttons. Here where the package falls short. The software for Mac. I was very disappointed to see that Logitech provides a Windows port for Mac. It looks very out of place on my Mac desktop and the software is quirky. For example, when trying to change the remote's wallpaper the software begins to act quirky and loses focus of the mouse pointer. I have to double click the UI in order to keep it from losing focus. It DOES work though, but it's just quirky. If Logitech made a native Mac version I could give this 5 stars. The iPhone/iPad software works perfectly. So all in all this remote solves all my needs. I never have to pick up any of my old remotes anymore.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good remote The Elite was easy to set up compared to my prior Logitech remotes. I used the harmony app. However I used the desktop to set upon favorites since it allowed me to do customizations Remote works flawlessly. I have one issue with the device soft button My wife constantly hits it and wish I could disable it I would recommend it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from latest greatest Harmony Remote works great

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Takes a little work, but... I owned a couple of Harmony 1100's, but they'd started to get a little balky and didn't hold charges well anymore. I'd tried the Harmony Ultimate several years ago and couldn't get past the setup - the remote would hang while I was trying to sync with the software. It happened with two separate remotes. After reading positive reviews of the Harmony Elite, I decided to take the chance and bought one each for our living room and bedroom. This was about a year and a half ago. When I began the setup, I found that there's an import mechanism in the MyHarmony software that allows you to sync to the older version of the Harmony software, and thus copy settings from the 1100 to the Elite. That, I'm sure, saved me a ton of work. However, after completing the import and syncing with my laptop and the hub, I found... that there were no devices on my remote and that nothing in my home theater worked. Oh, boy, here we go again, I thought. I decided to forego my laptop and went on my main computer. Tried to sync with my MyHarmony account and the remote hung. Darn, I'm thinking, I'm going to have to return THESE remotes also. So I called Tech Support and spent 15 minutes on hold. While I was waiting, I rebooted the hub and tried syncing the remote again... and just as Tech Support picked up... jackpot! Everything worked. Tested all of my equipment and activities, and everything was in perfect working order. It turned out that you have to re-sync the hub with your home Wi-Fi when you get a firmware update. Once you do that, the Elite will sync. The same thing happened when I set up the second Elite, so I didn't panic. I knew how to fix it this time. Now to REALLY customize the remote, there requires a bit of time and patience. One thing that isn't discussed is that you can assign short- and long-push commands for the hard buttons - useful if you might need to use, say, both your DVR and TV menus during an activity. The remotes are a little on the sensitive side, and that took a little getting used to. Otherwise, they are working exactly as I wished. I felt that the setup instructions could have been a bit more comprehensive - for example, I'm sure that I'm not the only person who has panicked when the remote failed to sync after the firmware update. But that doesn't diminish the fact that this is an excellent remote that can handle anything I dish out. I've since bought a third one for my son's bedroom (he was surprised to learn that this remote would operate XBox One), and have synced air conditioners in all three rooms to the remotes. I had been ready to give up on multi-brand remotes and had resigned myself to having to pull all of my component remotes out of the drawer when my Harmony 1100s died. My faith has been restored. Bravo, Logitech!
