Designed for the AR platform, the Spitfire AR Prism 1x Riflescope from Vortex Optics will help you get on target quickly. Its Dual Ring Tactical reticle is etched directly onto the prism and assures consistent point-of-aim at all times, even without illumination. The Spitfire offers a choice of red or green reticle illumination with five intensity levels for each, operated by rear-facing power and intensity controls. All air-to-glass surfaces have multiple anti-reflective coatings for optimal light transmission, and the scope is nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed for water and fogproof performance. You can replace the standard elevation turret cap with an included yardage-marked BDC cap for rapid dialing of known-distance shots out to 700 yards.

Spitfire AR Prism 1x Riflescope is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality at it's finest When I went to visit my local shop that's a Vortex dealer, I was in the market for a sight to put on my 9mm AR carbine. I have mainly Vortex optics in my collection of optics, and I'll have to say this one is high quality. everything about it seems that it will be able to withstand what ever you try throwing at it. my favorite part about this is the reticles are engraved in the glass so if your batteries were to die you can still acquire your targets. That shouldn't be a problem though because the Spitfire uses a single AAA battery instead of one of them expensive short lasting 3V batteries. Great sight for any AR build. Buy it and you won't be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick target acquisition and holdover I have purchased three of these: two for close-quarters AR and PCC and one as a gift for a special somebody. Easy to zero, and I can use the outer circle as a hold-over guide. The red/green color option rocks as does the etched reticle. Works for stigmatism or when I accidentally put a used battery in it, I still have a crisp reticle -oh and I accidentally dumped a bottle of Lucas Oil on it while oiling my gun on a stage. I got the oil off and shot a star off-handed. The top was loose. I have witnesses

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive little optic! Picked this up for a new 3gun rifle and was immediately impressed with the quality and workmanship of the optic. The etched reticle is amazing and the function and appearance of the illuminitaion is on point. I was able, in a short amount of time, to get it zeroed in and shoot consistently tight groups with ease! Looking forward to running this stage burner of an optic in Limited division this year. For the price, I’m also thinking of picking another one up for a PCC build for the wife’s birthday. But ssshhhhh, don’t let her know... it’s a surprise!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Warranty I have been using the Vortex Spitfire scope in the PCC division of USPSA events. The large outer ring helps in finding the dot quickly and the focus adjustment is great for my deteriorating eyesight. I used the scope in many competitions, the last being in September. I returned to this gun/scope setup in November and found that my battery had corroded badly (note: the scope has black rings when not illuminated, so you are not out of luck if your battery fails). At home I got the battery out and cleaned it as good as I was able, but it still would not power on with a good battery. I sent it back to Vortex and they replaced it with a new unit at no charge. Fantastic warranty, especially considering the problem was not their fault.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best thing going. I just received this Spitfire AR today and replaced another brand on my truck gun. It`s an AR -15 with nothing else but a light. I`m 64 and have cataracts that are nearly ripe and this red dot with the etched reticle is outstanding. I have dozens of scopes and red dots, some very expensive optics, and I have to say that I wasted money on the other stuff. Live and Learn! The manual didn`t say how much torque to apply to the crossbolts, but I found the answer in the Q&A section, 15 to 20 inch pounds + blue Loctite. I can see getting more of these to replace my other red dots and some scopes. It`s great to have that etched reticle and not have to worry about dead batteries, plus where can you not find AAA batteries?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THE 1x optic for 3-gun. There's a reason the guys winning in Limited division in 3-gun are using this optic. I picked up one to play with and considered throwing my name into that division again, and loved the optic enough to by 3-4 more. The price point versus features is hard to beat, so I have these on a .22 SBR upper, 300BLK SBR suppressed upper, 13.5" AR, 18" 3-Gun AR, and more. I don't even bother using the illumination most of the time, as the etched reticle works great on it's own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for astigmatism! Great for astigmatism! The dot and circles stayed clear. No star bursts or fuzziness. Sucks to have astigmatism, but at least there are products like the spitfire prism that help. Great for under 100 yards.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid upgrade from the original Spitfire I ran the original Spitfire 1x for several years on my limited division rifle in 3-gun. Eventually it had an issue with an internal lense and I sent it in for service. I received the new version, the Spitfire AR, and it is awesome. I love the fact that it takes AAA batteries which are all over the place. It has proven to be durable in the limited use its received. The etched reticle is extremely precise and I've consistently shot it out to 600 yards while using iStrelok to determine the correct holds (.223). The only thing that would make it better is if the illumination was brighter. I typically run it without illumination unless it's low light since the reticle works as well without it. All in all, it's a solid optic for the task.
