MaxxMove MXM-M-CSHAPE Overview

The MaxxMove C-Shape Stabilizer Grip is an ergonomically designed camera handle and stabilizer that is built for run-and-gun video makers and can also double as a DSLR rig. This stabilizer provides DSLRs and DV camcorders with fluid, multi-angle shot capability. Forged from lightweight composite ABS plastic, this stabilizer is rugged and sturdy.

The cushioned handle offers a smooth, comfortable grip perfect for long periods of filming, particularly filming of action shots and low angles. Compatible with most DSLR, DV, and GoPro cameras, the camera mounts via a standard 1/4-20" thread, while the handle's top-mounted shoe mount allows you to attach an optional accessory such as a microphone or monitor.

I mount a Canon VIXIA HF G70 onto the stabilizer. The MaxxMove is a great fit for a camera that size and room to spare for larger cameras. The camera mount allows for various horizontal angles of direction and balance, while top shoe mount accommodates a light, microphone, or monitor. The shoe mount also slides front to back for balancing. The VIXIA HF G70 weighs 2.25 lbs with a battery. The heaviest equipment I mount is a monitor that weighs 11 oz with a battery. The stabilizer weighs 5.4 oz, so the total weight is just over 3.25 lbs. The mount construction easily handles the weight. The mount itself is made of ABS plastic making it sturdy and light. The male and female threads are metal and the top shoe mount is reinforced with metal. The handle foam is a nice touch as well. So far, no issues whatsoever. Highly recommend.
