Rated 1 out of 5 by from Crooked reel I spent a good deal of time trying to get my film onto thisreel, but the film lead was always falling off the reel. This was my first time spooling 120 film, so I thought thatthis was my fault (I'm comfortable spooling 35mm). Ieventually gave up. After coming out of the dark, I lookedat the reel and discovered my problem: the reel wasridiculously crooked. The spot where my lead kept fallingoff was where the top of the reel was sloping away from thebottom. This reel is going to the garbage can. Problems Encountered: It's really crooked Previous Equivalent Items Owned: Variety of 35mm SS reels Items I Recommend: a different, non-crooked reel

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good build, but takes a while to master Perhaps it's just me, but I had difficulties with this reels during development of my first 3 rolls of film with this reel. Practice surely makes perfect but right now, I get parts of the film sticking to other parts of the film, resulting in areas that were totally not developed. I am sure I will pick it up and be perfectly flawless with the reeling in of film into this reel. It is well-built and sturdy, I don't see why not to get this. And it's kind on the wallet. Just keep in mind that if you are new to steel reels, you will need some time to master it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice starter reel I used this reel to develop my first 120 film roll. I was able to load the roll without any difficulty. The clip in the middle is a bit crude and pokes into the film end. However, its the very end of the film so you don't lose anything and also film is much stronger than I thought! So it works alright. I used it gives enough room for the developer to meet your film as against the plastic reel where I consistently see undeveloped borders and patches behind the lips because the developer never reaches the film there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than Plastic I love 120 film, but I hate plastic tanks. Stainless Steel lives up the the wear and tear of my life as a student. I used my stainless steel for 35mm and I wanted to continue on with the 120 - it's so much easier and it'll last so much longer. Highly recommend if you plan on using 120 film for more than just a semester

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Prefessional Reel! Very good, professional reel for film type 120. But need some practice in daytime for using the item; probably, newcomer can have some problems using it, - yes, some plastic reels can have minor advantages in developing. Cleaning and drying after use is very convenient. Enthusiastically recommended.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Robust, but stiff this is a very robust piece, easy to clean and dry. But the steel guides are a bit thin, and one has to be careful while loading the film. Also, the spring to hold the film at the core is tiny and very stiff, takes quite some practice to load the film properly
