Gerber tapped Rick Hinderer to design their Torch I Folding Knife and the resulting blade combines the piercing power of a tanto with the cutting ability of a drop point to produce a unique and versatile piece of gear. To withstand the stresses of a thrusting cut, the blade has a thick spine that reinforces the point. Its slight drop-point downward curve, coupled with the combo blade edge, will make short work of rope, cord, and hide.
Hinderer outfitted the Torch with two popular ways to open the knife with one hand: thumb studs and a flipper. An added benefit of the flipper is that when the blade is open, it extends the forefinger groove on the handle for extra safety. Holding the blade open is a beefy frame lock that can also be disengaged with one hand for convenient use. Adding strength and durability to the knife is a stainless steel handle that is ergonomically designed to fit comfortably in the hand with a secure grip. A fiberglass reinforced insert on the face of the handle adds traction for added slip resistance to your grip. The Torch I comes complete and ready to use in clamshell packaging.
