Used in conjunction with the TAP-in Utility software for Mac and Windows, this console connects to Nikon F lenses at the bayonet mount and permits customization over focus adjustment, focus distance limiter, VC adjustment, and full-time manual focus override settings. Additionally, lens firmware can also be updated by accessing a dedicated website while the lens is attached to the console. Offering enhanced and personalized control over a range of lens settings, the TAP-in Console ensures lens' firmware is kept up-to-date and permits configuring settings to suit specific shooting tasks.

TAP-in Console for Nikon F Lenses is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Item for a Sharp Lens I purchased the Tamron 35mm f/1.8 lens a month or two ago. It focused fine on my D7100 with a Auto Fine-Tune of -5 at close distances and at -7 adjustment at longer distances. I had to bounce back and forth between those two adjustments and could do nothing to help the back focus on my D5100. After receiving the Tap-In Console I sent my Tamron lens to Tamron for a firmware update and got it back in less that a week. I entered the two adjustment numbers into the Tap-In Console and bingo, the D5100 and D7100 cameras both focus fine now and I don't have to send the lens to Tamron for future firmware updates. Happy camper here!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works for all my Nikons! I have a D40x, a D5100 and a D7100 Nikon. I purchased the Tamron 35mm f/1.8 VC a couple of months ago. It worked great on my D7100 but needed a -5 AF Tune adjustment at close distance and a -7 at longer distances. I also wanted to be able to use the lens on my D5100, but the focus was off and the D5100 has no AF tuning. I shipped my lens to Tamron for the required update to support the Tap-In Console and it was returned within a week. After entering the AF Tuning numbers in the Tap-In Console software, I now have a Tamron 35mm f/1.8 lens that focuses accurately with all three of my Nikon Cameras. There is also no need to send the lens to Tamron for future firmware updates - Happy camper!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good so far When I received my Tamron Tap I immediately followed the instructions to plug it in to the computer and download the latest software. When I plugged my Tamron 150-600 G2 lens into it I immediately found out I did not have the latest software in my lens and it asked if I wanted to install the latest software into my lens. A box poped up giving me a box to check yes and install which I did. Worked great. I have not yet tried to customize my settings on focus but I probably will. That will take a little longer as there are 24 different setting and focal lengths you can customize. That seems like a worthy project but will take some time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the investment I received the package fast. The Tap-in console is awesome. It's easy to set up and the user interface is simple. Make sure you update the firmware on the lens before making adjustment. I used it with my 90mm macro and now I have a spot on focusing system to work with. My camera has the AF tuning function, but adjusting the lens helps as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The future is here This device is what sets Tamron (and Sigma) apart from other manufacturers including first party (Nikon,Canon). It future proofs Tamron lenses to make sure they stay compatible with new cameras should there be any compatibility issues. Moreover, the level of AF fine-tuning is well beyond what can be achieved by a single number fine-tune in camera body.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have for new Tamron lens If you own the Tamron 70-200G2 or any of the new Tamron lenses this is a no brainer. Keep your lenses updated with any new firmware. Save custom settings for your lens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very useful device for current SP lenses I used the TAP in console to upgrade the firmware and do some minor AF adjustments to my 85mm f/1.8 VC. Works on my 35mm VC as well. Once downloaded, the software is easy to use and device works as it should.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems easy to set up and use. I haven't had the need to use it quite yet, as I am still getting used to using the 150-600mm G2 lens I purchased this for. I have set it up on my computer though and it was extremely easy.
