SOG Forge Clip Point, Fixed Blade Knife (Satin Finish, Black Handle)

The SOG Forge features a clip point, 6.0" straight-edge VG-10 stainless steel blade that is anchored to a glass-reinforced nylon handle. Constructed for enhanced durability, the blade is created using a three-layer design that incorporates tough, high-carbon steel that is sandwiched in between lower-carbon steel. The process of initially sharpening the blade exposes a portion of the inner high-carbon layer which forms a particularly hard and sharp edge. The lower-carbon content of the outer layers imparts flexibility to the blade as a whole, maintaining the Forge's shape even as force is applied to its edge or tip.

The blade's semi-shiny, satin finish provides a textured, polished look while its flat is embellished with a crosshatch pattern. A belly-shaped handle with a 3D topographical texture enhances holding strength as well as the overall appearance of the Forge. The handle is similarly durable against impacts and abrasions, plus chemicals such as motor oil, transmission fluid, as well as methanol. When subjected to extremes of hot or cold, the handle's material also promotes a comfortable grip.

When used, the included nylon lanyard and the lanyard hole integrated within an exposed portion of the tang along the butt of the knife helps to keep the Forge within reach. A functional and stylish leather sheath is included for storage and transport. It features a belt loop as well as a snap closure, and though its shape mirrors the curvature of the Forge, a colorful splash pattern along the sheath's face provides a distinctive contrast.
