I bought the lens used without front cap and hood. I put on a uv filter and used a spare cap but it felt naked and cheap. After adding the hood to the lens the while set up feels and works great not to mention peace of mind protection.
...very happy, too bad costums to Canada charge 3 times the cost of the item otherwise will always choose B&H
