Savage 12 x 12' Background Stand Overview

This 12 x 12' Background Stand from Savage can support backdrops up to 12-foot wide and 12-foot tall. The multi-section, snap-together crossbar allows for simple extending and shortening of width. To shorten the width of the crossbar, one of the two middle sections can be removed to produce a 9.2' width. Sturdy and easy to assemble. Slight sag in the middle but overal very pleased.

Very disappointed to have to deal with this on the day of a shoot (Literally opened the box on the day of shoot). One of the stand's tighteners was unusable because it was installed by the manufacturer improperly and had stripped threads. Now I can only raise the stands up to 8 feet because the one stand is somewhat useless from not being able to tighten the lowest rung. Bought this because I have Savage Backdrops so I assumed it would be better than getting some knock off, but it turns out even Savage makes amateur manufacturing mistakes. Aside from the ruined tightener it seems and feels like a half decent portable stand, that's the only reason I'm giving this two stars instead of one. I would like to fix it instead of replacing the whole stand... but now I have to go fix it :P

Yes, it does. I used Savage brand 107x36 backdrops about 4 times and no problem so far.

I need to display a 35lb quilt. Will this hold or should I buy a middle support?

The quilt will hang much differently than a roll of seamless, which spreads it's weight over the entire roll. I would not use this stand for your quilt- the center of the crossbar will take all the weight, and the stands-if not weighted down-will fall in.
