Bring all of your Nikon TTL flashes into the Nissin Air System with 2.4 GHz radio transmission by mounting them to the Air R Receiver. Using an Air 1 Commander for the Nikon i-TTL system and the Air R Receiver, photographers can now set up and control numerous flashes in an off-camera setup at distances up to 98'. The receivers add wireless slave TTL functionality with support for high-speed sync up to 1/8000 second, manual power control, and manual zoom, with the ability to select between 8 channels and organize 3 groups.

Connecting to a TTL flash is simple as the receiver has a hot shoe on the top for communication. For strobes and manual flashes, the Air R also has a PC sync terminal for basic connections. Mounting the receiver is simple as well with a cold foot on the bottom with a 1/4"-20 thread for stands. There is also a flip-out stand for placing directly on a flat surface. Additionally, it runs on 2 AAA batteries.

Air R Receiver for Nikon Flashes is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Can't get it to work with Nikon Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I can't get this to work with any of my Nikon gear and I have it all. SB800, 900, 910, 5000 none of them work. I can get it to fire but exposure is all over the place. Also on the back of my flash units when I have the receiver attached the flash is either showing ISO 99999 or ISO 3. I have tried to contact Nissin but I guess their is a language barrier. So right now I can't recommend this product. Buy a PocketWizard or Phottix system. I have had good luck with both but sold them because I don't need them that often. Though this would be a good less expensive option. The build quality is good but if they don't work they don't work.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not work with other any camera but Nikon! Purchased Air-1 and a pair of Di700a flashes and found them to be the best flash system for my Sony A7 series cameras. Having switched from Nikon I read the reviews for the Air-R for Nikon Flashes adapter to use my SB-800 flashes in the same system. Everywhere Nissin claims that both the Air-1 and Air-R are NAS compatible so I thought that I should be able to add this to my flash system. After spending days experimenting I realized that the this outfit works in neither TTL or Manual mode and all flash exposures are nothing but random. Contacted Nissin and they twice pointed to the recognition procedure for Nikon flashes that I already have done. So they passed my complain to their distributor. Mr. Greg Clark from NEID-LLC informed me that this combination (Sony A7/Air-1/Air-R/SB-800) does NOT work unless I use a Nikon camera. I other words NAS compatibility is just a claim! If I use this system with a Nikon camera it does what the Nikon flash system does by itself, so what is the use of the Nissin NAS compatible adapters? I returned both Air-R adapters to B&H and thanks to their great customer service received a full refund. I recommend that Nissin clearly specifies this issue in their brochures and advertisement.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Consistent exposures, good build quality I use Nikon Speedlights with the Nissin Air 1 and Air R Receivers. I'm new to the product so I don't know how they hold up. Only time will tell. There is a pairing process to follow that is not required with other flash triggers I've used. I paired two speedlights and they both fire from the camera. Initially, I had dark exposures. However, after more testing I conclude that the exposures are very consistent which is good. In comparison, Yongnuo units were not consistent and were returned. Controls are easy to use. Build quality is good and the commander and receivers are fairly small. I think it's a winner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Economical Reliability The Nisdin Air R receiver really hit a home run right out of the box. The operation is flawless with my Nikon sb-900 flash, and it has opened up countless OCF opportunities in a light inexpensive , reliable system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing little adapter allows keeping existing equipment I bought these to make use of my Nikon SB800 flashes along with some Nissin flashes for Fuji. I've sold my big Nikons and gone Fuji. I still had 3 SB800 flashes and wanted to use them. I got the Nissin Air Commander and the Di7100a for Fuji. The Nikon flashes work in manual only, but I work in manual mostly so that's just fine.
