Clik Elite CE801BK overview

  • 1Description

Designed for the photographer with a true love of adventure, the black Escape 2.0 Photo Backpack from Clik Elite will hold and protect your precious gear while you climb mountains, rappel down canyons, and trek through the wilderness. It fits a pro-size DSLR camera with an attached 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, along with four additional lenses and an external flash. Your extra lenses could include a 24-70mm f/2.8, 85mm f/1.4, 60mm f/2.8, and a 45mm f/2.8.

Padded, hourglass-style interior dividers and Clik Elite's Camera Nest design keep your DSLR and glass protected, separated, and easy to grab. When you want to be ready to capture a great shot at a moment's notice, the proprietary ClikDraw system facilitates fast access to your camera, allowing you to tote it in a padded hip holster while keeping it attached to one of the shoulder straps.

In addition to a DSLR and lenses, the Escape 2.0 provides enough room for stowing an iPad or other 10" tablet. Additionally, you can utilize the convenient tripod holder to keep your three-legged support system readily accessible whenever you need it. Benefit from a spacious top organizer pocket offering plenty of room for accessories or outdoor gear, such as ropes, a helmet, or a jacket.

The pack's curved, ergonomic back panel alleviates pressure on your back and works with the curved hip belt to distribute weight evenly, placing the bulk of the burden on your midsection for optimal comfort and balance. Layers of breathable PercoFoam on the shoulder straps also contribute to long-term comfort, providing a cushion and wicking away moisture to help keep you cool and dry. As an added bonus, the Escape 2.0 features a hydration sleeve compatible with an optional bladder, making it easy and convenient to replenish lost fluids. And when you find yourself caught out in the elements, the tuck-away rain fly is your friend.

    Clik Elite CE801BK reviews

Escape 2.0 Photo Backpack (Black) is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not the best! The bag does not live up to it's hype! First time I used the bag was a trip to Chicago, I always keep the bag with me and do not allow baggage handlers to touch my equipment, even with delicate handling the bag had destroyed a 77mm UV filter on the camera. The bag was not dropped or mishandled. The bag has a easy access for quick camera access which is not easy at all, you must undo the straps and then unzip the both sides of the unit which is no different than opening the whole bag. I was to late to return to B&H and the maker of the backpack is no longer in business ( I wonder why). I bit the bullet and purchased a think tank backpack which I should have purchased in the first place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A real hiking backpack for camera gear I got a whole selection of different photo backpacks, but there are very few that are actually suitable for hiking trips. Clik Elite is (was) one of the only manufacturers that actually understood what it takes to make a hiking backpack. I was looking for a hiking backpack for hikes in the mountains and the desert that could store a camera with a 200-500mm/f5.6 lens attached. There are a number of options from other manufacturers, but in all honesty, almost none of the others even think about the essentials. Here are my requirements, in the order of importance: 1. 2-3 liter hydration bladder, with additional storage place(s) for water bottles to carry 5-6 liter water 2. Harness suitable for hiking, with good waist belt 3. Top extraction of camera with 200-500mm/f5.6 lens attached 4. Room for additional camera with 16-35/f4 lens or similar, or camera attached to harness 5. Room for extras - food, etc. 6. Versatile storage dividers for camera gear 7. Compact dimensions, suitable for hiking 8 Light weight 9. Camouflage color 10. Height adjustable waist belt. The Clik Elite Escape 2.0 Photo Backpack fulfills almost the entire wish list. It is spacious inside, but still compact on the outside. It also is very lightweight, which is a real bonus when carrying heavy loads over mountainous terrain. The fact that the waist belt isn't height adjustable is not that big of a deal and helps reduce weight. The harness is very comfortable and it was easy to adjust so the weight would be on the hips, with next to no pull on the shoulder straps. I was able to adjust the dividers to fit the camera (a D7200) with the 200-500/5.6 fitted. I still have to play with the dividers to get enough room for a D700 with 16-35/f4, or an Olympus M10. The backpack comes with a camera strap to attach a camera to the shoulder strap. I haven't tried it out yet, but it looks promising. The backpack is made of high quality materials. There are plenty of straps to attach a tripod and other gear. All in all a well designed camera backpack that can actually be used on hiking trips. It is too bad that the company isn't around anymore. I sincerely hope someone will continue this line, because there is absolutely nothing that comes even close to it.
