This HM1 Tilt Head from ProMediaGear is designed for monopods and features an Arca-type top clamp. What is the wing-nut style knob on the right side of the pivot axle for?
On the ProMediaGear HM1 Tilt Head for Monopods the knob that is similar to the shape of a wingnut adjusts the tension.

Can the clamp be rotated 90 degrees to accommodate camera on L-bracket?
If you have an L-bracket, the connection mechanism is the same whether you are shooting horizontally or vertically. All you do is rotate the camera without changing anything on the monopod. Or if you are using a long lens, you just release the knob that controls the orientation of the foot relative to the lens. In other words, there is no problem.

Has anyone compared the Kirk MPA-2, the ProMediaGear Scepter HM1, and the Really Right Stuff MH-01 LR? All three are high-end versions of the old Manfrotto 3232 tilt head swivel. The question is: are they worth the money and which of the three is the best option?
Haven't tried the PromediaGear head, but I have used seven different tilt heads, including RRS, Sirui, Leofoto, Sunwayfoto, Hejnar photo, etc. The one I like the most is the Hejnar photo version. It has the biggest swivel arm and feels the most stable among all. The finish is as good as RRS but the price is only half of that. Made in USA too.
