Is the grip component removable? So like if I wanted to shoot handheld/monopod style could I release it without taking all the shoulder parts off?
The height adjustable camera "Boom" part of the ALZO Bod-A-Boom hands free camera support is not removable. The ball head camera mount on the top of the "Boom" includes a camera quick release plate to allow for fast release and re connect of the camera. This allows for quick change to hand held camera work.

Can the ball head mount be removed?
Yes, it can. It screws on the base, with a locking screw (complete with spring) prevents the head from accidentally unscrewing itself from the base.Loosen the locking screw and you can then unscrew the head.
