The Reference 3 Headphone Calibration Plug-In download from Sonarworks provides three licenses for accurate calibration of selected headphones, and enables mixing and mastering with consistent results. Working with headphones can sometimes be misleading, and doesn't always translate well when playing back your mix on speakers. Whether in the comfort of your studio or on the road, this DAW plug-in makes it possible to take your reference with you, and to trust the mixes you create on your favorite headphones with greater confidence.
Headphone calibration provides a flat frequency response that precisely matches the sound of calibrated speakers in a well-treated studio. The software utilizes the patent-pending Perceived Acoustic Power Frequency Response (PAPFR) acoustic measurement system that measures sound the way humans perceive it. It produces calibration profiles for individual headphones, set with +/-3 dB or even better accuracy across the entire frequency range.
The Simulation option lets you use your headphones to hear your mix through various models of speakers.
