    Lexar LRWXQDRBNA reviews

Professional XQD 2.0 USB 3.0 Reader is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 39.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from For USB 3.0 it's slow. After getting the D500 and a couple of Lexar Professional 2933x 32GB XQD 2.0 Cards the only way I had to get images off the cards was using the USB port on the camera. This was a clumsy process but it was extremely fast. I bought this reader to make imports easier and save on battery life. After using the USB reader it felt sluggish. I did a comparison between it and pulling from the camera and the camera was much much faster. When working on deadlines speed is very important to me and this card reader does not deliver.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job, no signficant complaints This special card reader is made necessary by the emergence of XQD cards as the main storage option for some cameras, including my Nikon D500. I suppose the extra speed is worth it, though just using SD cards is more convenient. I have two of these card readers, as at any given point there is a good likelihood I will have lost track of one of them. The card reader works fine, no complaints there. My one complain is that its weird, squarish shape makes plugging it into my Dell tower computer a little awkward, ie., if I plug it into a front-top USB port it makes use of the neighboring port impossible. This is not a deal-breaker, but it can be annoying to unplug the printer each time I need to download photos.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from My experience with the Reader When I attempted to load my Lexar 64gb XQD-2 card into the reader it continually didn't accept it. I had to physically hold it in place. The next negative was that I when I inserted it in the proper USB slot on my desktop computer, it never found the card reader even when I was physically holding the card in place. When I inserted the card reader in my laptop I was able to download the photos by physically holding the card in place, (the card would not remain in the inserted position).I have returned the reader. I would give it zero stars if I could.T

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but slightly slow This is a great reader. Super small and contained unit that fits into a card pouch. Not quite as fast as the Sony reader but it's cheap and works!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy AND Speedy Durability and longevity are my only worries about this little chunk of plastic and electrical contacts that fit into my USB 3.0 ports on my laptop-there's just not much to it. Transfer speed with the XQD card is amazing, especially when I'm on deadline. A real speed increase from CF cards for sure! Imagine it will last long enough until XQD 3.0 or whatever new technology that replaces it. Have not tried with Sony cards, but I would initially expect same consistent results until proven wrong.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as fast as you'd expect Title says it all. It gets the job done, but when plugged into a USB 3.0 port, transfers aren't all that fast.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect XQD for Travel If you have wanted an XQD card reader for travel or even home use, Lexar has been listening. This reader is so small and light you'll hardly know it's there if you decide to carry it in your pocket. Appears durable and the requires no cable. Best of all it works as advertised.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from BEWARE design limits This card reader will NOT read my older XQD series cards. SO if you want to use it with a Sony N series or Lexar 1333X card, you need to give up and buy a 2.0 series card to go with this reader.
