It is a colloid commonly used in gum printing methods in conjunction with a dichromate and pigment solution to produce an emulsion for UV exposure. Also known as acacia gum, gum arabic can also be used as a binder in painting, an additive in ceramic glazes, and for protecting and etching lithographs.
