The FotodioX ARRI Bayonet to ARRI PL Pro Lens Adapter allows you to adapt your classic ARRI B mount lens to the ARRI-PL standard. The mount features a simple design and does not rely on set screws, making it easy to swap the mount between different lenses. It works by locking the lens into the adapter with the threaded retaining ring, ensuring solid contact without a wiggle, and a consistent flange focus distance. Each of the four locking tabs has a locating pin, which allows you to rotate your lens in 90° increments to align the witness marks when mounted on your camera.

Built like a tank and perfect fit for my vintage Zeiss Optex 12-120mm.

Expensive No instructions (but it works)

It's very expensive for what it is, however when buying video equipment I can't complain because it could easily have been 10x the price. The primary issue is it came with no instructions. I complain about this because it's VERY easy to mistake how it is meant to be used. Another thing is it's very easy to make instructions. Only 2 photos would have been needed. The adapter is mounted to the Lens NOT the camera first. The spinning locking ring actually goes into the camera rather than facing outside the camera. That ring locks the adapter to the lens, then the lens attaches to the camera. If you attach it the other way round, the camera first with the brass ring on the outside the lens will NOT sit correctly and will flop around. 2 photos, one with an X don't he wrong way and one with a check on the correct way is all that was needed but it came with nothing. The adapter does work PERFECTLY however, I'm just salty it's expensive.

Unfortunately, cameras with Arri standard mounts are unable to fit lenses with Arri bayonet mounts, due to the bayonet mount's locking mechanism.

The answer depends on the Arriflex SR you have. If you have an SR I or SR II. no this will not work. But then, you wouldn't need it anyway since those cameras take Arri B lenses anyway. However, if you have an SR III, it has a PL mount and you want to use any Arri B mount lenses, yes this is good, in fact, essential for the Arriflex SR III. Get the Jon Fauer SR book to be an SR ninja.

The exact dimensions of this product are not listed. We can tell you that it allows you to use Arri Bayonet (Arri-B) Mount SLR Lenses on cameras with a Arri PL (Positive Lock) Mount.

It is our opinion that yes, it is brass and stainless steel. This is the same type of construction that has been used for decades to adapt Arri B mount lenses to PL.
