Featuring a true optic-grade beamsplitter glass and top-quality metal parts, the Telmax Rail-a-Prompter Plus is an advanced tablet prompter supporting all plus-sized tablets, like the iPad Pro, Surface Pro 3, and Galaxy Note Pro 12.2". The beamsplitter is designed free from impurity — with no trapped air bubbles, no inconsistencies in the thickness, and lead-free. It also features an anti-reflective coating that keeps glare out and keeps light from bouncing around in the hood. This beamsplitter is especially well-suited for 4K cameras, which don't react well to air bubbles and other issues with glass purity.
The Rail-a-Prompter Plus is 15mm-rod-based system supporting any small to mid-size camera and designed to be tripod-mounted. It can be attached on any standard video tripod. Once it's attached, the height, camera position, tripod position, and beamsplitter frame are all adjustable to let you get the most optimal setup. The beamsplitter frame is adjustable to any angle and folds flat for transport and storage in the included hard carry case. A cloth hood is included that can be attached to the frame by touch-fasteners. The beamsplitter glass can be removed from the frame to be cleaned.
The tablet cradle supports tablets as wide as 10.25" (10.25" when you're looking at the tablet in upright, portrait mode), and doesn't have limits on the height (again, when you're looking at it in upright, portrait mode), because it allows the height to just hang. (You will be inserting the tablet in landscape mode, but these width and height measurements are provided for portrait mode.) The cradle has enough clearance to support your tablet while it's in most protective cases.
The reading range is 18 ft. The entire system comes pre-assembled and ready for use out of the box. All you need to do is mount it on a tripod, open the foldable frame, insert your tablet, and attach your camera. Any text-prompting software compatible with your tablet can be used. You can find these on iTunes or Google Play.
A pair of 10" 15mm rods is included. You can replace these with longer or shorter rods if you'd like. The entire system weighs approximately 6 lb, the durable, long-lasting metal parts making up the weight.
