Apogee Electronics ONE Overview

The Apogee Electronics ONE combines a 2x2 USB audio interface with high-grade converters and a built-in microphone in an ultracompact, elegant, and rugged chassis, giving podcasters, songwriters, musicians, and narrators award-winning sound quality, incomparable portability, and intuitive operability.

With the ONE, no external microphone is needed; convenient and quality recordings can be achieved with the built-in omnidirectional condenser microphone, which is housed in a specially tuned enclosure. If you need to track an external mic or an electric guitar/bass, use the included breakout cable to access the balanced XLR input and a 1/4" Hi-Z instrument input.

The transparent onboard mic preamps provide 48V phantom power, low-noise performance, and up to 62 dB of gain, more than enough boost to hit optimal recording levels with sensitive condenser mics or lower-output dynamic mics such as the Shure SM7B. The ONE can accept two inputs simultaneously—the instrument signal and either mic signal (internal or external)—for handling multisource sessions.

A single 3.5mm mini-jack output on the front of the ONE allows connection to headphones or powered speakers, whichever you prefer to monitor through. The large encoder knob provides user-friendly adjustments to the input level, output volume, and function selection. Additionally, 3-segment LED meters keep you informed of your I/O levels.

The ONE's size makes it very travel-friendly, and when fitted with the included microphone stand mount, it becomes the ultimate portable recording solution for quickly capturing musical ideas, recording high-quality demos, rehearsals, podcasts, lectures, interviews, voiceovers, and more.

Being bus powered via USB, the ONE requires no power adapter when used with a computer. It includes a mini-USB to USB Type-A cable for connection to your Mac/Windows computer, and adapter cables are available separately for connecting to iOS mobile devices. An optional power supply is required for use with smartphones and tablets.

Built-In Condenser Microphone
With a high-quality omnidirectional condenser microphone built into its enclosure, the ONE enables incomparable portability for setting up faster. When inspiration strikes, just plug the ONE into your computer or mobile device, and start recording; no need to break out a separate mic, stand, and mic cable.
2x2 Analog I/O
The transparent preamps on the ONE can provide up to 62 dB of gain for your favorite dynamic, condenser, or ribbon microphone or up to 45 dB of gain for a high-impedance instrument signal such as a guitar or bass. Gain changes, which are seamless and click-free, can be executed from the large control knob or via the Maestro software. And 48V phantom power is selectable via the Maestro software.

The balanced XLR and unbalanced 1/4" connections are accessible via the included breakout cable. No breakout cable is needed to plug your headphones or powered speaker system into the ONE's 3.5mm stereo mini-jack output. Direct monitoring ensures that you can record without being plagued by latency in your monitor mix. You can even use the ONE as a premium DAC for listening to your music library with audiophile conversion quality.
Studio-Quality Converters
With components carefully selected in critical listening tests and a highly efficient circuit design, ONE was built by Apogee engineers to make a difference you can hear. Its 24-bit / 96 kHz AD/DA converters are designed to deliver the purest recordings and best listening experience possible. ONE's efficient circuitry and state-of-the-art components provide a simplified signal path resulting in incredibly transparent recordings.
Hardware and Software Control
Operate the ONE from its streamlined and intuitive hardware controls or remotely control it via Apogee's Maestro, single-window software offering comprehensive I/O control and low-latency mixing. Maestro is available for Mac, Windows 10, and iOS operating systems.
Wide Compatibility
The ONE is compatible with any Core Audio-compliant audio application such as Apple's GarageBand, Logic Pro, and Final Cut. It also works with Windows 10 computers and iOS smartphones and tablets (power supply and mobile connection cables available separately).
Integrates with Logic Pro X
If you are using an Apogee interface, you can adjust hardware input parameters directly from the Mixer view in Logic Pro X, including mic preamp gain, input type selection, 48V phantom power, and more. This simplified user experience helps you focus on a single session window when recording, and offers comprehensive visibility and control of input parameters.
Solid Build Quality
Designed in California and built in the USA, the ONE features a sturdy diecast aluminum chassis housing Apogee's legendary circuitry.
