Can you clarify the payload range shifter (hi/lo) ...

Can you clarify the payload range shifter (hi/lo) setting? Does this give you 16 steps at the lo setting and 16 different steps at the hi setting? Effectively 32 steps total for payloads from 4 - 48.5 lbs?
Asked by: Michael
The Lo or HI setting is selected based on the camera/lens/accessory payload. LO is 3.5 /1,5 kg to 29 lb / 13.1 kg. HO is 16 lb / 7.7 to 42.5 lb to 19.3 kg. There is overlap. Select an appropriate setting. Once you do that, then you have 16 steps of counterbalance.

question

Can you remove the ball mount, allowing the flat end to be attached to the 3/8 -16 of a Manfrotto slider plate?
Asked by: Jason
There have been reports of the ball base being removed from Sachtler heads. However, this is not a normally recommended procedure and thus not supported by Sachtler. You proceed on your own recognizance.

question

whats the difference between this and the 20p ?ap
Asked by: Anonymous
The principle difference between the no-longer-made 20p and the present 20 S1 is that the 20 S1 can be adjusted all the way down to 4 lbs in order to work with much lighter cameras such as DSLR's.
