Sirui T004KX overview

  • 1Description

Support up to 8.8 lb with the Black T-004X Aluminum Tripod with C-10S Ball Head from Sirui. This compact support weighs just 2.5 lb and extends to a maximum height of 58". Reverse-folding legs fold around the ball head, enabling the tripod to close down to 15.7". The removable center column has a ballast hook for hanging stabilizing weight, and a short center column allows the tripod to get down to 4.9" above the ground.

The 4-section aluminum legs have 1/2 turn twist locks, and can be individually adjusted to one of three leg angles. Two of the legs have foam grips for added comfort when carrying the tripod. The included C-10S ball head has a safety-lock equipped Arca-type compatible clamp and quick release plate, as well as separate locks for the ball and the panning motion.

    Sirui T004KX reviews

T-004X Aluminum Tripod with C-10S Ball Head (Black) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice travel tripod with mirrorless system. This tripod has a nice build quality with an alright ball head that easily supports my XT-2 and my variety of lenses. It's just what I was looking for, for travel or when out for a hike. I feel that it's much better value and quality than others that I looked at, even at the next higher price bracket. Took a chance, sight unseen and I'm satisfied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great small tripod Very light and compact, easily attaches to my backpack. The Sirui ball head is fine for lighter lenses, some folks (me) may want to try a different head, which I did with my Induro head, non ball type. Worked out fine with my Tamron 70-200, F2.8.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from backpackers choice Used this on a three night backpacking trip in the North Cascades with temps from 20 to 70 F. Previously used the Manfrotto BeFree and found the Sirui to be superior in regards to performance. Cant state anything on the quality yet but legs seem to be much better, very smooth and bottom leg extension is thicker and feet are 100% better. Only worry will be the piece the legs attach too, but that is only in comparison to the BeFree but strong so far. Is a light weight tripod and its support rating is low but still held strong with no issues unless i was walking with my A99 and 17-50 attached where there was a little slipping but was expected. If youre looking for a ultra lightweight tripod for backpacking that will stand to the weather and most any job you can throw at it..go for this Sirui setup.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Product - but is it what you need? I bought this set up a number of months ago to get a lighter travel tripod. At this size, the carbon versions shaved off very little weight and added a lot to the price. It sets up quickly and is well made. The ball head works well, though the panning knob is too small for my taste. It works well for wide and standard length lenses. While it holds the weight of my 70-300 Sony zoom just fine (3+ pound combo), it does not give me the sharp results if there is any sort of a breeze. After using it a number of times, I decided that an additional pound (give or take a few ounces), really does not make that much of a difference to me on a 5 miles trek and that I really appreciate the additional height and stability that a more substantial tripod gives me. I am currently using the Mefoto Globetrotter Carbon as my hiking tripod (I have also used the Mefoto Roadtrip Aluminum model). Sirui also offers some slightly beefier carbon models which seem to be excellent too. Again, the T-004x is a great buy, for what it is, but for me I found the benefits of something a little lighter were outweighed by the markedly better platform that a bigger tripod provides.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good, small, lightweight tripod for travel I needed a really small tripod to fit in my airline carry-on. The first one I bought from a known brand was such a piece of junk, I gave it away before returning home. After reading reviews, I bought this Sirui T-004X which was smaller, as stiff and just about as lightweight as a carbon tripod I was considering at 2x the price. If you can accept the limitations of a small, lightweight tripod, as I have for travel, you should seriously consider getting this tripod.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for lighter systems I looooooove this tripod. It's rated at 8.8 pounds and is a great tripod for mirrorless systems. I shoot a Sony A7 with lighter, non-pro lenses. Most tripods mean are built a bit heavier and bit sturdier for SLRs with heavier lenses. Comparable tripods are just overkill for my A7, I've a tried a few others. There are a few things I like about this tripod more than others: It has 4 leg sections instead of 3, which is quicker to setup, stiffer, and lighter for the same height. It's packed length is bit longer, but I never notice when strapped to my backpack. Also, the entire ball head can rotate for panoramas independent of the ball movement. One extra note - there are set screws that keep the ball head from unscrewing itself from the column. Mine arrived untightened, which may be intentional so that you can swap out ball heads quickly. Once I tightened it with the included allen wrench, the ball head stays in place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would buy again Perfect lightweight and very stable tripod. Used it on a few hiking trips so far and it's been doing incredibly well.
