FotodioX LM-SNYE-DLX-STRETCH overview

  • 1Description

Revitalize your Leica M mount glass with this DLX Series Stretch Adapter from Fotodiox which not only lets you use the lenses on a full-frame or APS-C Sony E-mount body, but offers enhanced focusing capabilities. This adapter features a focusing helicoid that can move the lens farther forward while attached, acting much like an extension tube to shorten the minimum focus distance of the optic. This system can also reach further back towards the sensor, guaranteeing infinity focus with nearly every lens. The brass and aluminum adapter also sports a focusing tab to make use much easier.

    FotodioX LM-SNYE-DLX-STRETCH reviews

Leica M Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera DLX Series Stretch Adapter is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice but a little stiff I don't know if this is normal for this adapter but the infinity side of the ring is smooth as expected, but as you get to the close focus position the sliding motion becomes so stiff that it's almost impossible to use it for video focusing without it feeling jerky. I'm thinking to order another one to see if it's my copy or a design defect. Great for photography, not so much for video if you want to focus while shooting.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from slightly diappointing This is a great idea; One peice of gear that has two function. One for normal photography and another to get closer than you could normally get with a Leica lens. But the problem lies within the design. It is a pain in the butt the attach a Leica lens to it. Most lenses fit easily onto a mount. This one requires a bit of giggling and force, which I hate doing to a lens, much lens a very expensive lens. It barrel doesn't turn very smoothly. It is stiff, like metal rubbing against metal, and the WORST part of it is, the lens release button is not very secure. It takes hardly any pressure to release it and a very slight turn of the lense to detach it from the adapter. I nearly had my 50mm Leica Summicron drop to the concrete twice because I inadvertently touched the release button. I would like to return it but I hate the hassel and have instead forced myself to be extra aware of staying clear of the release button when handling the camera while the adapter is attached. Other than that, it feels well made, not rickety, but definitely not quality craftsmanship like most lens makers such as Sony, Nikon, Canon, Fuji etc. But the ability to use my Leica glass on a Sony full frame camera was the biggest reason why I bought the camera.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pricey, but great adapter Lovely solid adapter, great to have the extension to turn any m mount lens into a macro lense! No lense play either
