Rycote Cyclone Overview

The medium Cyclone Windshield from Rycote features an open shell structure without parallel surfaces to reduce room tone effects and provide a clean frequency response. It comes with a Z-Locking System with magnetic locking for instant removal and attachment.

A must have for AB or MS outdoor ambiences in windy conditions. Wrap from the bottom of the windshield to a foot down or more with ace bandage or similar to stop wind whistling through knobs and cables.

I love the magnets for a quick release the only bummer is the mount is a little small when unsung just a softie as the softie tends to rub the shock mount, limiting its eng usefulness when in the run

If i own a large cyclone, will i be able to use the mount from the large cyclone with the medium windshield?

The medium-sized Rycote Cyclone Windshield should also work with the same mount that you are using for the large-sized Rycote Cyclone Windshield.

No, the Sanken CO-100K microphone will not fit in Rycote Cyclone Windshield Kit - Small (B&H # RYCWSKS). You will need the Rycote Cyclone Windshield Kit - Medium (B&H # RYCWSKM). The medium-size Cyclone is for use with shotgun microphones that are 174 to 255mm long with a diameter of 19 to 25mm.

Rycote recommends using the slightly larger-sized model, which is the Rycote 089101 Cyclone Windshield Kit - Large (B&H # RYCWSKL), as a better match for the Sennheiser MKE 600 Shotgun Microphone.

Is there a size for the Cyclone that will accommodate both an MKH60 and miniCMIT? Or am I better off going for the Modular Windshield?

While the Medium Cyclone would work for the miniCMIT, it would be a tight fit for the MKH60. We would recommend going with a Modular Windshield to accommodate both better.

Can the medium size allow the spacing between the 2 shockmounts clost enough to accommodate the Sennheiser 8050 (with additional length of XLR cable at back)?

The length of the MKH-8050 mic is 2.9". The length of the microphone in the pictures of the Rycote Cyclone is 9.88". Based on this, I surmise that you will have little to no trouble trying to do this.
