Rycote Classic-Softie Overview

This Rycote Classic Softie and Universal Shotgun Mount Kit is an all-in-one wind-reduction and mounting solution for Rode NTG Series shotgun microphones and similar mics. The kit contains a universal shotgun mount for booms, a Classic Softie windshield for protection against wind noise, a patented Duo-Lyre shockmount for isolation against handling disturbances, and a cold-shoe adapter for on-camera mounting.

Slip-On Softie
The slip-on windscreen is constructed of an acoustic open-cell foam with an integral synthetic fur cover, suitable for harsh outdoor environments
Patented Duo-Lyre Shock Mount
The Lyre mount supplies isolation against many forms of disturbances including handling noise (handheld or boom-pole induced), low-frequency rumble, and vibrations from camera motors
Cold Shoe for a Hot Grip
In addition to boom facilitation, this kit provides protection from wind, shocks, and vibration while capturing audio from the top of a camera utilizing the included brass cold-shoe adapter

Solid With a Low Profile

I got this for my NTG-3. It fits great and has a low-profile. I like to keep it mounted on my boom pole in the bag. I haven't had any issues yet, but the plastic construction worries me that it might get busted up sooner than later. So far, so good though! Well worth the price tag.

This is actually smaller. This mount will fit microphones sized 19-22 mm. The Invi-HG MkIII fits a wider range, for mics between 19-34 mm.
