I love the design of these, especially compared to the Matthews wheels. The Matthews versions always go on super tight (hard to force on) and then tend to pull out the plastic cap at the base of the combo legs when you remove them at the end of the day. The design of these is great because they slip onto 1 combo legs easily and then the screw is placed through the combo leg (all of my avenger combos have a hole for this - from 20' overheads down to low boys). I do have 2 issues, though. Firstly, I wish it were tool-less setup. As it stands, you need a wrench to tighten the screw all the way down. Not the end of the world, but this could be solved with a bolt with a wing nut or t handle. The second is that I have had one of the brake locks give out on me to where it no longer locks. I'm a fairly industrial user, so these things are rolling through fields and over rough terrain often. They've performed well, but I wouldn't mind paying a bit more for a more robustly built caster. Overall, though, I am pleased. I have 3 sets of these and plan to get a few more.
These are solid casters and the included shims are well made. I bought these to fit onto a 4041 baby boom stand (20mm) lags... there are two sets of bolts included and the shims are drilled to fit the smaller diameter bolt. Ok fine but the bolt head is too small to fit tbe hex socket molded into the caster sleeve... strange. There's no included instructions and nothing on the site, really strange... especially as they obviously have reasons for the bolt sizes... can someone please explain how they made this work? Have pics? My only guess is that the hole required to fit the bigger bolt is too large and will compromise the integrity of the 20mm leg. Or will it? Help!
