    Sony STRDH770 reviews

    STR-DH770 7.2-Channel A/V Receiver with Bluetooth is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid performer with some clunky features. Bought this to replaced my 5yr old Yamaha RX-V571 as I wanted a 4K enabled receiver to go along with my Sony XBR-55X850D. Pros: sounds great, performs its primary duties quite well, especially at this price point. Cons: cheap remote (not using it anyway), clunky configuration (everything is done on the tiny 8-character display aside from the language and speaker calibration, which is done on screen), info displayed on tiny screen is either too small (tiny labels) or uses scrolling text. It makes me wonder if the folks who design the user facing components actually try them out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High quality home sound/theatre system on a budget I use the unit mostly to watch movies. I'm no audiophile, but for my needs the sound quality is great. The Bluetooth connectivity is easy and pairing a device takes no time. The simplicity of the remote makes changing settings very easy as well. Although this doesn't have some options such as wifi connectivity and apple airplay, for the price this device gets the job done perfectly. Also, calibrating the system is simple as a calibration mic is included. I definetly recommend it for a high quality home sound/theatre system on a budget.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rating for audio only. Since I do not have a 4k TV I cannot really fully appreciate what this is capable of. I bought this mostly for driving my speakers (self powered monitors) to not have to constantly get up and change volume on each speaker (because that was the only way without an amplifier). Again, coming from a JBL 305s monitors that have amps built in as well as produce immersive sound with even just the small DAC I have (fiio k1), I have to say I am not blown away with the sound quality but sounds is good. It's okay. Does what it was suppose to, by making me understand dialog from what I watch rather then needing to crank up the volume all the way up to here what they are saying. Overall, it serves its purpose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product This receiver was bought to substitute a 5 year old Denon 7-2 that for the second time blow the center channel, First time was repair under warranty. Today sits in my spare bedroom waiting for me to decide what to do with it. I was extremely surprise by the Sony receiver, set up was really easy, but what took me by surprise is the sound and the clarity of TV image, My Denon never sounded that good and definitely my TV (1080) image was not a clear as the Sony. I will not hesitate to recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A receiver with much to offer Obviously, having purchased this receiver, I don't consider myself an audiophile. For its cost this receiver has a lot to love. Plenty of power, unless you have very inefficient speakers. At this price point, it's hard to find speaker five-way binding posts. But this Sony receiver has them! And for much less than competitor's prices for receivers with comparable performance. (Of course, you have to invest in the lugs or banana plugs). One can't ensure oneself to be future-proof, but all inputs support HDCP2.2 and 4K 3D. This is one fine receiver!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great quality, a little weak though I have this receiver and the features are amazing. Only problem is no where can you find out how many watts each channel is at 8 ohms. They advertise it at 80 watts for 6 ohms but most speakers are 8 ohms so there is no way to get the full 80 watts from each channel. My guess would be about 60-65. Does not over heat and put out quality sound at high volumes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great 4K receiver for the price! The receiver was fairly easy to install and set-up. It has all the power I need and it works well with my 5.1 speakers arrangement and 4K TV. The only downside is that the remote is big and clunky.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good sounds Bought it to replace my old Sony Receiver five years old. It's similar, good sounds, love the features of USB input, and bluetooth connections. Cons i that model cut the AM Radio, and some connection ports, like it has only one optical input, the old model I have has two optical inputs. Overall it's OK if you wants a good sound receiver.
