Can you lock the skate wheels into a single direction so it becomes a hardwood floor slider without the need for tracks?

The FotodioX CamDolly Cinema System with 2 x 50' Rolls of Flexible SnakeTrack (B&H# FOCAMDOL2R) comes with wheels that can be locked into their angles so that consistent and repeatable moves may be performed on smooth surfaces even without the use of a track.
