The Smart App LCD Series 2U Line Interactive Sine Wave UPS from CyberPower provides simulated sine wave output of 1,500 VA and 1,125 W. Along with the battery backup, it also provides surge protection for department servers, workgroup servers, workstations, network devices, and telecom installations without active PFC power supplies. It uses Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) to correct minor power fluctuations without switching to battery power, which extends battery life. AVR is essential in areas where power fluctuations occur frequently. This UPS system is ENERGY STAR qualified with GreenPower UPS Bypass circuitry to save on energy costs by reducing energy consumption and heat buildup.

Data Line Protection
  • Prevents power surges that travel through telephone and Ethernet lines from causing damage to electronics
Surge Protection
  • Diverts excess voltage away from sensitive electronic equipment during an AC power surge or power spike to prevent damage
Line-Interactive Topology
  • Exists when a line-interactive UPS has an autotransformer that regulates low voltages (e.g., brownouts) and over voltages (e.g., spikes) without having to switch to battery
Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR)
  • Provides clean, consistent AC power by automatically boosting low voltage without using battery power when incoming utility power experiences minor fluctuations
Simulated Sine Wave Output
  • Uses pulse wave modulation to generate a stepped, approximated sine wave to supply cost-effective battery backup power for equipment that does not require sine wave output
GreenPower UPS Bypass Design
  • Allows utility power to bypass the UPS transformer, when AC power is stable, which reduces energy consumption, noise, and heat build-up
Rotatable Multifunction LCD Panel
  • Displays immediate, detailed information on the UPS battery and power conditions, alerting users to potential problems before they can affect critical equipment and cause downtime
  • Rotatable panel is easily readable whether the UPS is rack mounted or standing as a tower
PowerPanel Business Edition Software (Included)
  • Provides tools for monitoring and managing the UPS and backup power, also offers remote management functionality
ENERGY STAR
  • ENERGY STAR certified Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system
Connected Equipment Guarantee
  • CyberPower will repair or replace properly connected equipment if it is damaged by a power surge
Applications
  • Department servers, workgroup servers, workstations, network devices, and telecom installations

CyberPower OR1500 Reviews

Failed just after 3 year warranty expired

I purchased this in 2019. In 2020, just after the warranty expired, the unit beeped and shut itself off, along with my desktop computer. No warnings. No error messages. It powered up a couple of times but is now completely dead. I have a CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD, purchased in 2018 that will also shut off intermittently. I have 3 APC units purchased in 2021 that I haven't had any problems at all with yet. I won't buy another CyberPower UPS.

Solid UPS

We've been using this UPS for about a year now and have been very pleased with it so far. It can get loud when under heavy power loads. But we don't have that happen often. It usually lasts for a few seconds or so. Since we've installed this UPS though, we haven't had any issues with equipment going down. We sometimes get short power outages that can make producing a live show very annoying. So far, this solved all our problems!

Silent, no buzzing or whine

Just plugged it in an so far it's great. I was concerned it might be noisy, but I can't hear any sound from this thing at all even though its about 5 feet away. It's pretty heavy so I installed at the bottom of the rack. Got Firewall, Switch, Cable Modem, KVM, PicoCell, and docking station running on it and the front-panel estimates 85-90 minute run time in a power outage (1500VA model). I may experiment with notification features later, but I'm always in the building any time this stuff needs power so I'll know if the power goes out.

PS5/LG-G1 and more

Its good looking (for what it is) and blends in well with other electronics in my entertainment center. Two factors to consider if you're using this in a gaming or theater room environment. One the weight and two the additional depth needed to plug items in the back will be a problem for smaller/cheaply made entertainment centers. Are far as performance I have a 65 led, PS5, XBOX X Nvida Shield pro, Ubiquti 8 port switch and two fans plugged into. I stress tested each individual item and the XBOX X was the biggest consumer of power. The cyberPower estimated about 25 minutes of runtime while actually gaming. In hindsight I would guess I could have gotten away with a much smaller UPS but the price between the OR1000PFCRT2u and this OR1500PFCRT2U was only $20 bucks at time of sale

UPS arrived earlier than scheduled. Installed easily in rack and has already helped weather a brief power outage. Seems to be detected and working fine with NUT (https://networkupstools.org/) under Gentoo Linux.

Does what it supposed to

It does what it is supposed to. I will update this in a year or so. The best part was that it was nearly $150 from b&h than Amazon. I started shopping here about 15 years ago when I fell down the dslr rabbit hole. Surprisingly competitive pricing, often cheaper, and never price gouging. Whatever the msrp price is or lower, the last year or two of video cards as an example, always the msrp, not like other retailers.

Can this UPS be remotely managed?
Asked by: M
This unit is able to be managed remotely, but would require a RMCard205 installed in the expansion port on the back of the UPS to communicate over your network. Thank you for your question!

Will this be sufficient to power a 16 core 2019 Mac Pro 7,1?
Asked by: Patrick
Hello Patrick, Thank you for your question. The wattage capabilities of this UPS unit should be more than capable of supporting the computer's power needs. However, we recommend checking to see if the power supply for the computer is an efficiency rated power supply, as many of these power supplies require true sine wave output on battery to function correctly. This particular UPS unit outputs simulated sine wave power when on battery and can potentially cause compatibility issues with efficiency rated power supplies when the unit is on battery. question

Will this work with Mac OS X, like the CPS1500AVR?
Asked by: Anonymous
I assume you are asking if the UPS software will shut down your MAC if the power fails? You will have to go on line to the units mfg. and read an owners manual. I bought my unit to retain power to my computers if the power failed. When I am doing a video render, I don't want my computer shut down until I am ready. My experience: It performed well during a 3 hour power outage. I would recommend this unit for its intended purpose. Walt Copeland, A/V Engineer
