    Avenger E390 reviews

E390 TVMP Yoke to Stand Adapter is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Yoke Adapter This Yoke is used as an integral part of our Environmental Chamber Testing light fixtures. These serve as a very useful addition to mounting and dismounting the lights from the tripods and in adjusting the positioning of the lamps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Avenger TVMP I bought the Avenger TVMP over a Matthews TVMP because the Anenger stand adapter has a better knob and also a setscrew in the side to tighten it down on non-comforming stands. The Matthews does not have the setscrew and the tightening know is nowhere near as nice. The only the Matthews unit has over the Avenger is a 10 cent lockwasher, that you can get at any hardware store. I buy used fresnel lights that come with c-clamps that used to hang in theatres on a pip. The TVMP adapters are much less expensive and more substantial than buying the original manufacturer's stand adapter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best TVMP for the price I use these for my Lekos, which usually come with a C-clamp or nothing at all, being theater lights. With TVMPs (and an inline switch) they become location lights for film use. Most other TVMPs have flimsy knobs or are too expensive. One thing I've had to do with these though is put the knob in the bottom threaded hole and the set screw in the top threaded hole, treated with blue loctite first so it doesn't rattle out of place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile Yoke TVMP yoke adapters are common items, but the E390 has several great features that make it stand out. I really like the large knob to securely fasten the adapter to a stand. The knob can inserted higher or lower to accommodate different types of 5/8 stands, or you can remove the knob and use the adapter in a junior stand. It is a good looking, well made and reasonably priced product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Useful for mounting monolights I bought these adapters to allow me to mount Paul Buff monolights securely onto Avenger baby stands and booms. These monolights fit 5/8 studs that are typical of Manfrotto and other photo equipment, and the Avenger (movie industry) mounts are a little different. I added a custom 5/8 stud with 1/2-13* screw thread to these adapters and they work very well. An alternative to the custom stud would be to use EZ-Lok 335-4 or 319-6 thread inserts to allow use of those 5/8 x 1-1/4 photo industry spigots. A shortcoming of this adapter is the way the clamping screw is finished. The screw is ground to a taper at its end, and its hole is less than three threads deep. So when the clamping screw is backed out to un-mount the adapter, there is less than a full thread holding the two parts together. Be careful not to lose that knob! Avenger doesn't provide information anywhere online regarding the screw threads, but they are 1/2-13.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does the job, usually I use these adapters for mounting stage fixtures like PAR cans and ellipsoidal spotlights, which are becoming more and more popular in the film industry, on normal light stands and gripology as opposed to having a pipe clamp on the fixture which isn't too useful when you're on location. I like the knob on this one much better than the Matthews one, which essentially requires a wrench to tighten to a decent degree. A junior pin on a light that's not too heavy can also be swapped for one of these, this gives you the flexibility of also being able to mount it on a baby pin. However, beware that if you're using this adapter with older Matthews equipment, you may run into issues. The hole is too small to fit onto some stands and pieces of hardware. If you don't have a drill press and a 5/8 spade bit to bore out the hole, you might be better off getting the Matthews one and either dealing with or replacing the rather unsatisfactory knob.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solidly Built We use these yoke adapters to make our Avenger light stands and C-Stands more versitile. We mount our ETC Source 4 PAR's on the stands and also use the stands as supports for a background frame. I like these better than the MSE yoke adapters as the wings on the tighteninng screw are much larger and easier to work with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Avenger E390 Adapter I use the E390 adapter in conjunction with Avenger stand A2030D to mount single lighting fixtures. The combo is used to project logos and event names in hotel lobbies, restaurants and retail establishments. The adapter and stand set up quickly and efficiently. The product and price were exactly what I needed.
