The features overview says "Tally support with ATEM switchers via optional Teranex Mini Smart Panel". Is this correct? It would seem bizarre that you'd need an optional front panel for this. I'd assume that, with the multi viewer and switcher on the same network, you'd use the BMD software to configure tally, yes?
Asked by: Patrick
You can configure the tally setting using the optional Teranex Mini Smart Panel or when connecting the Multiview 4 over USB to a computer running the Multiview Setup software.

How can this device be used to add additional switchable inputs to the black magic design TV studio HD? I assume it has something to do with the video hub protocol.
Asked by: Jason
You could connect 4 video inputs and use the multiview out as a source and use it in solo mode. That way you could switch the solo source input and end up with 4 more switchable inputs to your other device.

We have an ATEM Video Switcher and (3) PTZOptics SDI Cameras. I'd like to use this to route Cam1-3 to a Video Waveform Monitor for shot-setup, each time our team previews Cam1-3. Could I get this to happen automatically with this? Using only ethernet data between the the two devices?
Asked by: Robert
The Blackmagic Design MultiView 4 (B&H# BLMV4) will essentially just turn up to four inputs into a single signal, showing each in one quadrant of a TV (or production monitor) screen. If that signal is sent to a typical waveform monitor then that waveform monitor would give you a waveform for the combined group of four feeds, not four separate waveforms unless yours allows you to specify a separate area of the frame for each such waveform. The MultiView 4 will accept those four video feeds from the SDI (up to 6G) connections, not from the LAN (sometimes called "Ethernet") connection. That is because the LAN port on the MultiView 4 is for control, not for video input nor output.

Wanting to use this for Livestreaming purposes with OBS. Does this give the option for me to grab each image separately and overlay it for one image for livestreaming purposes? Thanks
Asked by: valued
The Blackmagic Design MultiView 4 offers SDI loop output. If you have the ability to capture SDI with your computer you can use those sources as OBS allows.
