How do I select high speed sync? There is no SYNC function showing on the display panel.
Asked by: Dave
The Yongnuo YN685 Wireless TTL Speedlite and Wireless Flash Controller Kit for Nikon Cameras does support High Speed Sync. Note on Nikon cameras that is set from the menu of the camera. And not all Nikon cameras have that. It is called Auto FP.

question

I have a Nikon D5200, a Yongnuo 685 and a Nikon sb-28 speedlite. I would like to be able to fire the 2 flash units that I have and a 3rd, not as yet obtained flash. What controller / transceiver / flash do I need to make this happen? Cost is a concern. mtb
Asked by: Michael
If you already own the Yongnuo YN685 Wireless TTL Speedlite and Wireless Flash Controller Kit for Nikon Cameras, the Youngnuo YN-622N-TX i-TTL Wireless Flash Controller for Nikon (B&H # YOYN622NTX) included in the kit would be able to wirelessly trigger the Yongnuo YN685 Wireless TTL Speedlite for Nikon Cameras. You may purchase the Yongnuo i-TTL Transceiver YN622N II for Nikon Cameras (2-Pack), B&H # YOYN622NII, which you may connect to the bottom of your Nikon SB-28 Speedlight Flash and your third speedlight flash for your wireless radio triggering usage needs.

question

The overview states i-TTL flash system when mounted to cameras for simple flash exposure control . Does this mean that I-TTL and other advanced features are NOT available for off-camera flash triggered by the transceiver?
Asked by: Chu J.
The transmitter works with all of the features the flash has. It will work in I-TTL and High speed sync.

question

I purchased 2 Yunguno YN685 Speedlights and a YN622-Ntx Transmitter I have the D500 and I was testing my new flashes and trigger. I am able to shoot in Manual at 1/250th a second or below and the D500 will fire both flashes with no issue. Once I pass 1/250th of a second, so 1/320th and beyond (In to HSS or FP area) my camera freezes and the flashes do not fire. I hear the mirror or shutter lock up. I have to remove the battery and turn the camera off , once I turn the camera back on I have an ERR message on the screen and I press the shutter button the shutter resets and I can access the camera menu and info screen again. I am not sure what is causing the problem and why I cant use the HSS with shutters past 1/250 a second without freezing the camera. Any ideas on what causes this error?

Would I be able to use this flash/transceiver combination with HSS speeds of 1/1000 or faster? Does it support the Nikon flash/auto ISO feature? I use HSS and sometimes flash auto ISO with a better beamer for wildlife photography.
Asked by: Edward
You can shoot it as fast as your camera is capable of up to 1/8000th. It might be able to do Auto ISO, but you will probably get better results just picking a static ISO and setting it.
