I would recommend a 40Gbps capable Thunderbolt 3 cable like the Xcellon Thunderbolt 3 Cable (3.3', 40 Gb/s, Active) B&H # XCTB35401 since it would give you the full bandwidth you need to run an eGPU enclosure like the Akitio node.
