Canon ET-60 Reviews

ET-60 Lens Hood is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 186.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not the quality I expected from Canon I purchased this hood for my 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS EF-S USM LENS. I expected the inside to be felt lined which it was not. The fit is fine but it is basically a $ piece of plastic. This quality of hood should be furnished with the lens as part of the package.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Necessary to use with a rain sleeve cover It was a recommendation to use a lens hood with a rain sleeve for better fit so I looked for one but couldn't find a place that had an authentic Canon part model in stock. I had been burned by other previous non-Canon parts not fitting or being usable for my camera so I wanted to stick with only the name brand. The Canon chat representative said B&H would have a shipment soon and they were correct! It fits the telephoto lens that came with the T5i kit (EF 75-300 f/4-5.6 III)perfectly. It was necessary in order for the rain sleeve I owned to work to have some sort of lens hood and this fit the bill.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Bought this to use instead of the cheap rubber one I had previously. fits' nicely, and love that fact that you can turn it around for storage. Works great with the stock 250mm kit lens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the extra money After throwing away another hood that was supposed to fit the 55-200mm lens, I bought this one and it goes on and off and reverses so much easier. Sometimes it just pays...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Lens Hood - Perfect Fit Good lens hood for my camera. Very easy to fit on and take off. Building up my camera equipment after a long time away from photography and needed new everything! This lens arrived just before I was shooting a local event and worked great! I looked more professional than the pros there!! Thanks BandH!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Needed accessory I bought the ET-60 lens hood for the 75->300 mm kit zoom lens bundled with the Canon Rebel XT I purchased about two years ago. Of the several lenses I have purchased for this camera, this is the only one where I get inconsistant results. The main problem I seem to have is that the light meter seems to think there is more light available than exists and results in under-exposed pictures. This happens more often at the 300mm end of zooming. I assumed that too much light is getting in from the side. I tried a rubber screw-in hood and that did not seem to help much. The Canon seems to help a lot, is inexpensive, and is easy to use. I think that a hood should probably be standard with all lenses over 100mm. I should have purchased this when I bought the lens. It is made of thin plastic, so care should be taken to avoid breaking it,

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Essential accessory for 55-250mm lens For outdoor photos in sunlight, this lens hood is essential for my Canon 55-250mm lens. It is larger than I expected, and I have to admit I find it unattractive in appearance. Much prefer the tulip shape of lens hood, but this was the type recommended for the 55-250mm lens. The hood appears to be durable, and is fairly easy to attach/remove. (I always hold the lens firmly while doing so). Once in place, it feels secure. The ET-60 Lens Hood does what it is supposed to, and allows for photos to be taken in situations that would result in sunlight glare across the lens otherwise. B&H's price was lower than the over-inflated prices on Canon's own website. Would recommend this product - even if it looks bulky, it really works!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits perfectly. Snaps into place for a secure connection. I had originally purchased the ET-63 lens hood. Although it fit on my lens, it never locked into place so I was always afraid of it falling off. Turns out that I had not purchased the correct lens hood for the Canon 75-250 mm lens model that I own. This is the correct model and it works perfectly. Lesson learned. Pay attention to the precise lens model number when ordering accessories. It really does make a difference.
