FEISOL TT-15 overview

  • 1Description

The TT-15 Mark 2 Mini from Feisol is a lightweight and compact tripod capable of supporting up to 17.6 lb at a maximum height of 5.7". Each of the tripod's legs features three preset leg angles of 25, 50, & 75° for adjusting the tripod's height and balance. When each leg is set to the widest angle the tripod is capable of reaching a minimum height of just 2.1", suitable for low angle landscapes and macro photography.

The tripod is constructed from anodized aluminum to help prevent corrosion and carbon fiber legs to reduce overall weight. The aluminum base measures 1.2" in diameter and features a 1/4"-20 & 3/8"-16 mounting thread. When fully collapsed the tripod is just 6.3" in length and weighs just 6.4 oz, making it easy to carry. A carrying case is also included for additional protection during transport.

    FEISOL TT-15 reviews

TT-15 Mark 2 Mini Carbon Fiber Tabletop Tripod is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 42.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from So small....but so strong I decided to purchase the TT-15 Mark 2 Mini Carbon Fiber Tabletop Tripod, for a upcoming trip to Rome. Due to my restricted baggage allowance, I had to leave my heavy Manfrotto tripod home. Very pleased I went ahead and purchased this light weight tripod, as it weighs....nothing! But it can hold my GH4, Voightlander 10.5mm lens, Manfrotto 701 tripod head and Genie Syrp....no problem! Another plus side, getting nice low angles. So yes, a great piece of kit for anyone wishing to cut down on weight when flying economy. Here is a picture of my set up. Thanks to B & H for super fast delivery to Australia.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good overall except one fault... Pros: 1. Light weight. 2. Strong legs. I always like Carbon fiber. 3. Multi angle leg spread. Nice! 4. Large mounting platform (.. lead into a con feature..read on...) Cons: 1. Large mounting platform translate into bulkier size. Didn't we get into table top for ultimate portability to begin with ? 2. This is a killer: there is a soft pad on the mounting platform & I suppose that it shields the base of your ball head from scratching. But this cushion translates into soft support. I mount a heavier ball head with a 70-210 f2.8 rig and the setup wobbles a bit because of this soft pad. I am pondering whether I should remove it with a razor blade.... Conclusion: If you have a light rig then it is strong enough but unnecessary bulky. And if you have a heavy rig the system is strong overall but render unsteady by its weakest component. Razor blade operation? Hmm hmm ........

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfectly mated to Zyiyun Crane I've been using the Zhiyun Crane gimbal with my a6300. The only problem was where/how to put it down. Previously, I used a quick release plate and had it on a tripod, which wasn't a perfect solution. So I purchased the TT-15 tabletop tripod and screwed it to the bottom of the gimbal's stick. It's perfect! It can hold the weight - even with a Sony 18-105 power zoom attached - with no problem. And with the legs spread out, it provides excellent stability. It folds up nicely as is very well constructed. Most importantly, it now makes the gimbal far more useable and complete. I just about never remove it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best table top / mini tripod there is! I used to buy these cheap and wobbly mini tripods. They usually lasted a couple years but started to fall apart sooner than later. They also didn't really provide any stability. Every time I put a DSLR on it I was in fear of it tipping over or a tripod leg bending in. This is now over. This FEISOL mini tripod is solid as a rock! I bet this will be the last table top tripod I will ever need. It is extremely resistant against vibrations. The legs are made of carbon fiber and are very sturdy. I bet you can put 40 pounds on this thing. It is very light weight, the frame is made of CNC machined aluminum, the legs have 3 presets, it comes with 1/4 screw and an adapter for 3/8 for all your pro grade photo equipment as ball heads, panning bases or clamps. I'm using this tripod mainly with my CB-30D ball head also made by FEISOL and my SONY A7R. They are a great match. This setup is great for mirrorless cameras and DSLR alike. Usually there is always a pole, rock, table, car around. Just pull it of your bag and boom: night shots, time laps or long exposures everywhere without having to bring your large and bulky tripod all the time. This also works great for macro photography or things like taking pro grade photos for eBay offers. I have an entire garage full of smaller stuff that I don't use anymore. Now I can take easily photos of these small things on a table, put them on eBay and get some money together for my next equipment. The other day I used this mini tripod on my balcony. An awesome thunderstorm was rolling in and there was no time to make room for a regular tripod with long legs. I just put the mini tripod on the railing and look what great shot I got!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for traveling photographing This table top tripod is lightweight and small. I used Benro V1 ballhead on it, and hold the D800 with 2470 f2.8 without problem. However, need to open up the leg wider for better support and stable. This tripod is not designed to use for taking the serious pro photo, it's very good for traveling photos if you don't want to bring the regular size of tripod. I suggest to use L-plate on the camera so making sure the camera is always on the top of the tripod no matter you shot landscape or portrait, otherwise, if the camera tilts side way, I don't think the tripod can stand still.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight AND stable mini tripod What a sturdy, lightweight small tripod! Really well-built with nice leg locks that allow for several different leg angles. Lets me get right down to the ground for an unusual perspective. I have used it with my Sony A7ii for cityscapes and macro photography; I am sure it will be useful for landscapes as well. I paired it with a panning base (instead of a ball head) to keep the profile and weight as low as possible while still being able to use an L bracket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super simple, durable and small. This mini tripod works great, you can open the legs pretty far to get close to the ground and use for macro work. It's seems durable and well made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best mini tripod I've ever used Small, strong, lightweight and flexible, this compact carbon-fiber tripod is the perfect tool I've been waiting for. It offers all of the characteristics I was seeking. It's made beautifully and I have no doubt it will stand up to years of professional use. I affix a small ball head to the device and mount a remotely triggered D-SLR with lenses as large as 70-200/2.8 to it. I've used it extensively in just the past few weeks at sporting events, and it hasn't disappointed. You can position the legs at different heights, each holding in place securely. My only criticism is the screw that attaches to the camera. The head of the screw has a simple slot, so you need a coin or screwdriver to tighten it to the head. It would have been smarter if the screw had a key turn that you could tighten by hand. This is not a cheap tripod, by any means. But as someone who has used just about every high-quality mini-tripod on the market, this one stands above the crowd.
