Atomos ATOMSUN006 Overview

This is a rigid, four-sided, collapsible Sunhood for the Shogun Flame and Ninja Flame Monitors, in black, from Atomos. It has a pleatherish feel to it but is solid.

This sunhood is designed to secure to the 1/4"-20 threaded hole on the top of the monitor using an included thumbscrew. The thumbscrew offers a 1/4"-20 female threaded hole on top so you don't lose the monitor's threaded hole. A viewing cover is also included that magnetically snaps to the sunhood to provide an even more concentrated viewing window.

Flimsy and fragile

I didn't buy my hood separately. It came bundled with my Atomos Shogun flame. I only used it a couple of times and one of the sides of the sunbox came unglued. Once that happened, I couldn't use it anymore, and I'm careful with my equipment. As other reviewers have mentioned, it's thin cardboard. The up side to that is it's lightweight and fits in the case. The down side is it isn't very durable and it fell apart on me. I wouldn't recommend it.

Well this hood is overpriced for basically a cardboard box. Terrible design and when gets hot in the sun, glue holding it together melts and the thing falls apart. You would think a SUN hold could survive the SUN! Unfortunately this is all that's available short of making one yourself.

It does not, this is for the newer Shogun Flame and Ninja Flame Models. We do not have any options for a Sunhood that will go directly on to the older Shogun Model. However if you have the SHAPE Atomos Shogun Cage, B&H # SHOCAGE, you can add the Sunhood that fits that specific cage, B&H # SHHOODCAGE1.https://bhpho.to/2xS1cPvhttps://bhpho.to/2xSBcTS
