  • 1Description

The ATH-ANC33iS QuietPoint Active Noise-Cancelling In-Ear Headphones from Audio-Technica feature a miniature microphone in each earpiece and electronics that create a noise-cancelling wave that acts like a noise eraser to cancel out annoying sounds without diminishing the audio you want to hear. It can be used when paired with a smartphone, iPad or any portable audio device for a peaceful experience in a noisy environment.

The in-ear headphones also feature an inline microphone and controller for answering calls and controlling music. The mic and controller support smartphones, iPhones, iPads, many iPods & other compatible devices. Furthermore, the microphone has an omnidirectional pickup pattern and is designed for crisp intelligibility, which delivers your voice clearly without having to speak directly into the mic.

    Audio-Technica Consumer ATH-ANC33iS reviews

    ATH-ANC33iS QuietPoint Active Noise-Cancelling In-Ear Headphones is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleased These work amazingly well at suppressing the noise from my HVAC system while napping. They replace a set of Phillips noise cancelling earphones which were much less effective and required that I keep my head perfectly still to avoid brushing the padding and adding noise. My wife had trouble waking me the other day because I simply did not hear her voice. They are very comfortable and their mere presence reduces a great deal of ambient noise. Activating the noise cancelling function increases the noise suppression by a least a factor of 3 - maybe more, I'm no expert. Sharp noises can still be heard, but the occasional passing car goes completely unnoticed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Problem interfacing with iPhone 6 For the price, sound cancellation is very good. I wear these on the train and it cancels a lot of the ambient noise while voices remain largely audible. That said, there's something wrong with the way the headphones interact with my iPhone 6. When they are plugged in, they randomly activate Siri. Annoying. Not happening without the headphones plugged in, and not happening with other headphones are plugged in, so I've isolated the problem to these audio-technicas. Additionally the in-line button does not work--at least not consistently--with the phone. I've seen others with the same problem on this review page, so wondering if this is an acknowledged defect and whether it's correctable?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Audio quality is great Audio quality is there, however, after only two months of use, the headset started malfunctioning and causing iPod to start/stop music and jumping from song to song while in use. I tried them on another iPod and it did the same. Replaced batteries in noise canceling compartment, still malfunctioning. I had expected better quality from audio-technica and was very disappointed with this problem. They fit and feel great, sound quality is great ,but those features are a moot point when they don't work!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great, but malfunctioned after 6 months I compared these with some over-the-ear Audio Technica (ATH-ANC9) headphones and found the noise cancellation to be nearly as good-maybe 75-80%, so I kept these. The sound quality was rich as well. Unfortunately, within about 6 months, I started having issues with the headphones hanging up on phone calls, starting/stopping music, etc. This would happen even when the button was not being moved, nor any wires or the jack-just sitting quietly, and something about the wiring of the headphones would trigger the button function. This unfortunately makes my investment pretty much unusable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good purchase, very comfortable earbuds I bought these to replace Brand K 4si which were okay but not anywhere near as good as the Brand B noise cancelling headphones. (They are great but too cumbersome for travel anymore). So I checked several audio mag reviews and thought these Audio Technica might fit the bill without the cost of the crazy expensive competitor earbuds. I am very impressed and with the compressable foam covers find them both comfortable and decent at mitigating a lot of the noise on the plane. Sadly, the battery pack is rather heavy, with on AAA battery and keeping it clipped on to a sweater or jacket is difficult. So difficult in fact that the clip broke off exposing a sharp medal spring. I hope that can be fixed as I do like these and save this problem would recommend them - especially at this price point.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good price but Mic/Button not working with iPhone I purchased the first pair at Heathrow T3 airport and was defective, left ear was not working; ok it may happen; I got a replace, I was happy about sound quality and noise suppression immediately tested on a long flight 10+Hr. when off the airplane I used them for first call and discovered that Mic and the Button doesn't work with iphone 6. are they still another defective or just not compatible with iphone? who knows but when I'll be back from trip I'll get it back and buy a different brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value I replaced the supplied ear tips with a set of Comply T-400s, large. I didn't knock off any stars for this because I have hard-to-fit ears. They are great for air travel, train travel, noisy coffee shops, arenas with painfully loud sound systems and anywhere else I want to block out sound. They do feel delicate, and all the problems mentioned in other reviews are possibly traceable to damage at the mic switch, so I bought a case and have had no problems in a year of use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These ones are replacing my pricey noice-cancelling headphon Got these at the airport as an alternative to a set of pricey noise-cancelling headphones from another brand I bought just 3 months ago. Headphones can be a bit bulky and get in the way if you want to sleep on a plane, so in-ear headphones are a good alternative (to sleep, just turn on noise cancellation without listening to any audio source). Noise-cancellation works like a charm and just as good or better than any other brand or model I've used before. I'm keeping these In-Ear headphones and selling my other ones now. Great portability and good sound at a third of the price for what I paid for the others. Last, but not least, one of Audio-Technica's strongest points: you can leave noise-cancellation off and still use your headphones like normal passive headphones (though I'm not sure if this applies to their whole range) - a feature that I really appreciate.
