Pre-configured as HFS+ for Mac but also compatible with Windows via a simple reformat, this array connects to your system using its one USB 3.0 port, two FireWire 800 ports, or one eSATA port with data transfer speeds up to 440 MB/s. The StudioRAID mini is equipped with two 2.5" SATA drive bays and a total capacity of 1TB, which is configured as 2 x 500GB SSDs. SSDs contain no moving parts and as such, are able to operate with faster data transfer speeds than traditional spinning hard drives. Having no moving parts also allows SSDs to be more durable, as well as receive less wear and tear since there are no read or write heads for the drive media to come into contact with.
