Designed for use with guitars and basses, the Dirty Robot from DigiTech is a pedal providing two kinds of synthesizer emulation, selectable via a Voice switch. Warm analog synthesis, replete with envelope sweeps that can recall 1980s timbres with the twist of a knob, is provided by V1. V2, on the other hand, gives you vocal formant synthesis to approximate talkbox effects and vocoder stylings. While both settings can be used to emulate the classic tones of erstwhile eras, you can also use this pedal to create unique soundscapes.
Other features abound, such as a 360° Drift knob which allows you to blend square waves with octave and sub-synthesis parameters. Built-in chorus and vibrato effects provide further sound-mangling possibilities. For connections, the Dirty Robot provides two 1/4" sets of inputs and outputs, making stereo routing possible. An included StompLock allows you to keep your settings place, minimizing the frustration that occurs when movement in changes all the knobs.
